The Best Bipson.
He obviously lost because he didn’t Scissor Kick or Standing Roundhouse enough.
Wait WTF, Ibuki can cross-up with the Kunai when staying on the same side? Isn’t that against SF mechanics?
When did that happen?
Afte he did Kazegiri FADC cr.HP, he threw a Kunai which hit the back of Dictator. from 1:15
He didn’t cross up, the Bison THOUGHT he was going to cross up so he blocked to the left (incorrectly) and got hit
Look at the inputs
The player was neutral at the exact moment it hit, because the last input was down. Try using the stop motion. That’s the animation of it crossing up.
So if hes holding down of course hes not blocking. This does not cross up
I wonder if you even play Ibuki sometimes Izuna.
I understand now… Because he was crouching, he made it an unblockable. I’ve just tested this in training mode. That’s why the animation for crossing up happened. There really is no way you can block it crouching anyway.
In these cases, it helps to have a program that allows you to watch the video frame by frame. Something like MPC or VLC.
In actuality, this Bipson was holding forward at the exact moment the kunai hit. In fact, he was holding forward at least 1 or 2 frames before the kunai even hit. You can (and should) verify this yourself.
I dunno wtf is this “stop motion” you speak of and this cross up animation.
Bipson was not crouching, nor did he have a chance to crouch since the kunai was meaty. This set up is definitely not an unblockable. You should probably re-test again in training mode.
Again, wtf is this “animation for crossing up” you speak of? Whether or not the kunai crosses up, the hit animation is always the same.
i’m confused… sometimes when i hit ryu with a meaty kunai he bends over like he got hit in the stomach and sometimes he slides back like he would after a cross up.
does this mean the kunai wasn’t meaty…?
Testing this in Training Mode, that animation only happens if Dictator is crouching, and by crouching it’s unblockable. You cannot get that animation by attacking his front. Have a go yourself.
You can hear him getting hit before the input for shows up, so he was likely transferring from neutral to
as it was hitting him, but of course he commited to crouching about a frame before. (Although this could simply be a case of a dropped frame since YouTube displays about 25fps max).
I remember reading somewhere about that you shouldn’t crouch to block the vortex, but Balrog players do this all the time to make TC4 whiff. If there was a way to replicate this on Claw that would be amazing.
Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow
TC4 never whiffs on a crouching Boxer…?
i guess he means balrog=vega/claw?

Me playing at Wednesday Night Fights. In losers finals I got fucked by Yun pretty bad. Kept getting counterhit by divekicks when I tried to anti air, didn’t really block, and didn’t punish upkicks with neckbreaker. It was really late though, this Wednesday I didn’t do as well only got 13th place, but the tournament ran faster so hopefully if I can get that far again I hopefully won’t be too tired lol
I’m in love with that Genei-Jin combo.
EDIT: You don’t have to react to him juggling himself with the Up-Kicks, you can hit st.HK, which if the Kunai does actually hit him will let you hit-confirm into a combo anyway. And you can just SJC into Tsumuji or jump-back Kunai to make it safe on block.
One of Yun’s best match-ups so yeah, not too different from using Dhalsim when you don’t have meter. When you weren’t being knocked down by unblockables and dive-kicks, it was fun to watch! Just maybe don’t play too defensive, you actually did your best when you weren’t doing so, have them give you a reason not to first rather than letting it be their turn to switch on to offense.
I never thought of that I usually just try to react to the juggle but I’m pretty horrible at it A few days after, I tried to figure out if I can do anything about Seth’s dp fadc on block and Ibuki can reversal U1. I don’t know if that was known already lol
It was know. I think that in 2012 it will be better too because characters like Juri who go airborne will get hit by more of the orb rather than just getting knocked down (if they backdash).
BTW I love AE’s airborne frames for backdashing. The best change they’ve made imo.
Anyone else watching SBO? I paid for the stream. Rooting for Mike and Ryan but also looking forward to seeing Iyo’s Ibuki.
