whats the difference between CFJ and mugen?
hmmm…Odin looks like Iori + Kyo…
- :bluu:
I couldn’t agree more, CFJ was every thing we’ve seen before except worse, it’s their own fault it failed. But at least they’re trying, I actually think it’s a good idea they didn’t release SFVI now because at least they’ll have more experience. Have confidence, or you’re never getting anywhere in life. If it’s a flop, so be it, but at least they’re trying to do something new.
I’m glad the roster has expanded to 15 characters, that’s actually a nice ammount. also it’s interesting to see the hood now as well, guess all there’s left is in game footage. I’m just keeping an open mind about this one. I know their last fighter was a flop and I know the team are young but I’m glad they’re trying something and they’re Capcom, they make good games all the time.
this game is gonna be hot! about time capcom.
Henaki- SNK doesn’t rehash? I know for a fact that that is a lie, they’ve had the same sprite for Iori since 97(maybe earlier). Arcsoft only has GG and they still have the sprites they started with and I think the company that made Arcana Heart is completly new(new company I think) of course they have new stuff.
Sexperienced.- I couldn’t tell ya, I dont do mugen.
Beserker looks like Terry without a hat.
wtf dude i’m pretty sure he meant rehashes outside of graphics
what do you mean?
One of the pages on Capcom’s Kenichi site shows what appears to be a Killer Instinct-style counter system. This concerns me.
Yeah, it’s Capcom’s own fault that CFE bombed.
Put out a mediocre game and expect a mediocre response.
It was the very definition of going out with a whimper.
That Thor guy looks like a fat version of Juzoh from LB though, and I know it’s based on a manga or something, but those are some of the most generic character designs ever.
each kof brings vast system changes, new story and generally 3+ more characters, and often multiple changes to many characters. what did CFE bring to the table that was actually new?
^^ Another plateful of bullshit. That game was fundimentally flawed! Interesting concept but flawed no dought. They were sort of trying to do a CvS2 thing but it fell flat on its face.
Just waiting for vids of Kenichi.
LOL
Loki does look like a fake ass gambit!
there was nothing wrong with CFE. that’s the entire point. it was just a boring copy/paste game. there’s no “bullshit” in the argument.
I think CFE brought new match-ups, I’ve never seen Urien vs Demitri anywhere else(many other examples), I also enjoyed the red earth characters and system. But this is a thread about a new capcom fighter so lets not fill it with CFE arguments.
If you want to continue that conversation start another thread.
news from magic-box
"Capcom will release Shijou Saikyou no Deshi: Kenichi [History’s strongest Diciple Kenichi] for PlayStation 2 in Japan in March 2007, a new anime based 3D fighting game. The protagonist is a 15 year old weakling named Shirahama Kenichi, who joined the Ryouzanpaku dojo for karate trainings, in order to defend himself against the deliquents who always target him in school. Kenichi also met the beautiful Furinji Miu, a transfer student who defeated the gang leader in school, who is also a female disciple in the same dojo.
For each character you can choose two battle style “Quiet” and “Motion”, Quiet focuses on defense and counter attacks, while “Motion” focuses on attacks and explode anger (super combos). During battles there are 3 types of attacks: shock skills (strikes), truth skills and return skills (counter attacks). Shock skills are stronger than Truth skills; Truth skills are stronger than Return skills; and Return skills are stronger than Shock skills."
More KI-inspired spidey-sense alarms are ringing in my head…
what the…
Just found a 15 sec japanese commercial for Kenichi.

nice find. And from the 3 seconds of gameply it looks to me like a slightly looser rival schools. I’m not yet convinced but hopefully that will change.
there’s no arcade version of this, right? I want some match vids!
If Capcom wanted to do a 3D fighter I’d much rather have a sequel to Rival Schools, and if they wanted a more mainstream type of fighter I’d much rather have Power Stone 3. I highly doubt this game will ever make it stateside much like 95% of fighters.
And why can’t we get a sequel to Vampire Savior?
