Yeah, all that excellent movement, spacing, zoning and antiairing was nauseating. Where was my Unga!!!
Funnier still is that you are complaining about a good anti air on a zoner, that costs bar no less, in a game with ridiculously overpowered jumpins and vs a character with some of the best air options in the game.
Menat getting complained about was going to happen. Sheās in an opportunistic situation where she has buttons with nearly no hurt box fighting against a host of other characters that have normals that are nowhere near as dangerous hit box wise. Some characters itās basically you have to jump or do some neutral bypass or you canāt really play any other ground game with her . Then once she gets 2 bars like Soul Satellite she forces the neutral further. Which is why its one of the only v triggers that is activate raw regularly. Its so strong that you dont even have to VTC fish to get most of the benefit from it.
Sheās kinda what the game needed though and a big part of of why Infiltration is winning. He and Daigo are both control/range players and Menat and Guile help them do that in a game that was otherwise designed to be a closer ranged game. Infiltration just smart enough to whip out a character with an EX DP vs characters that can disrespect her neutral easily like Rashid.
Overall though I think people are definitely going to like bouts of Menat vs Akuma with lots of actual neutral played over Laura vs Rog wrestlemania trigger pop off.
Yes, but complaining about good design is ridiculous. A zoner having good anti airs is good design. The fact that the ground game has been horribly designed doesnāt make that any less true. Maybe users should start complaining about that for a change.
People have been complaining about Guile, Dhalsim and Gief forever even though they are āfairā designs in how they effect the meta. People gonna complain. Characters that are polarizing in what they do will always be complained about.
People hate characters that force you to obstacle course to get around them and people hate characters that you canāt get too close to without risking them ragdolling you around until you lose.
Menat is a great character, if only for the fact that sheās the only one with good normals in Stubby Fighter V. Letās not nerf one of two characters who can play somewhat of a zoning game.
Menat and Guile are rare cases, so itās possible she could get Zekuād/Vegaād. Character with staff needs a lot of tools, so all of them need to be mediocre and if all used extremely weāll get an ok character.
Iām really intrigued for what sheāll play like. I figured one of the season 2 DLCās would be a zoner and Menat filled that role. She may be the zoner of this season with long staff. Could be Rolento function, but I dont think theyāre going to do that seeing she has no story relation to Rolento.
VTII does more chip damage (on its own), since you can get two sets of orbs, but you lose any real set-up potential, canāt cancel into the second set safely unless you actually hit the opponent, and generally donāt have any versatility. The best Iāve seen of it is fancy jump-in combo stuff.
Basically VTI can do everything VTII can do, and any extra chip damage VTII does is made up by the extra chip damage you do doing VTI strings. I guess maybe if you really really really want to keep the opponent away from you with a bunch of fireballs and never want to try to set them up? But even then you can do that with VTI already but get far more flexibility.
Maybe if VTI is changed to 3 bars VTII will be used a bit moreā¦but even then I doubt it. And I hope they donāt do that either way. At best itās something to use if you donāt have any VTI execution down, like if you have a purely pocket Menat.
Meh, Menat has excellent zoning/neutral and thatās ok because once you manage to get in sheās pretty weak, Guile is probably even better than her at keeping out people and once youāre in he can actually put up quite the fight.
People hate Gief becasue in SFV thereās only a handful of characters that can effectively keep him at bay and once heās in itās a slot machine
We had a season of completely new chars with fresh ideas (succesful or not), but now itās boring ass Sakura, a somewhat revitalised Blanka, and Falke who we have no idea what she does.
Just make S4 completely new characters again, this game needs it. Make a char that beats the meta Capcom, I dare you.
