The trend seems to be that only the first characters of the season are available for a trial period, excluding Alex. Gouki was available to play during the season 2 beta, and Sakura got a free trial to kick off season 3.

Just started SFV and the update is downloading. It’s one of those in-game updates that seem to be much smaller.
I think Ed was available at the same time as the “new” CFN beta where they implemented the rage quit system and all that good stuff. So he was just incentive to get more people to try the new CFN. So if there isn’t a beta, or a new season starting, then I wouldn’t expect a free trial for the new characters.

Season pass holders can play Blanka right now in training mode! cr.mp is a damn good AA, great range on his cr.hp. That slide to get under fireballs is great, but the best I can get it is -7 on block.
As much as I love my arcade stick, there are some motions I just can’t seem to do well at all. HCB’s in combos are killing me right now, and two QCF’s for CA’s are driving me crazy too. These we’re definitely easier on pad. Oh well, just need to man-up and keep practicing.
I’d never imagine in a million yrs that I’d be happy to see Blanka.

It seems like Capcom is upping their programming skills… The last few updates (other than AE) have been the in-game type which have a significantly smaller file size, and this is the first time (that I know of) where Season Pass holders can play the new character while the servers are still offline; they normally have to wait until the server/shop is back up.
