Skullgirls uses GGPO which is a different form of code from Capcom’s shit. Capcom’s code at best just takes concepts from GGPO, but just doesn’t implement them as well. Which is why there is one sided rollback and the game doesn’t adjust the delay for laggier connections (causing lots of teleports as if every match is on 0 rollback delay). Marvel Infinite added a delay filter for laggier connections so you just get more input delay rather than lots of ports.

Injustice 2 actually had the creators of GGPO help advise them on the netcode, so that’s why there’s less rollbacks and choppiness.

And SFV doesn’t use GGPO because?
I’m legit asking here, is it something they would need to pay for? is it non viable because of the higher quantity of data a 3d fighter needs? is it that they thought they could do better, failed miserably and went the Japanese developer route of not acknowledging their mistake?

Mainly because they’re Japanese and confident in using their own netcode. American developers are more open to sharing technology and the people who created GGPO live in the US where there’s more incentive to share rather than just stick your nose up and create it your way.

Basically they could do it, they just don’t want to and know you’re going to buy and play any way. Just luckily for me any way, good connections in this game are much better than anything I played in IV. Lucky for Capcom the game is popular enough competitively that a lot of players in the US, Europe and Japan can compete locally if they want to.

They were thinking no one would notice it was Pay To Win. So they built the game around microtransactions. People noticed what was going on. Disney got pissed at the bad press. EA took them out but the since the game was clearly built around them the game is somewhat busted.

Mena got Abigail waiting in the wings if need be. With that being said there just isn’t many birdie players like him. It might take a while for the comp to catch up.

With the new changes a character like Birdie seems to benefit. I wonder in the extra recovery time will apply to his ex dolphin dive.

Mena wouldn’t be doing as well if he played Abigail.

Agreed. Birdie doesn’t have that many bad matches and his bad matches are not too too bad. Plus he’s got frame 1 armour reversal if he feels the heat too hard and top tier screen contol.

The one thing is I don’t know the value of playing both at least tournament wise. They share mostly all the same winning matches for much the same reasons and birdie loses the losing matches less hard.

Abi did save sf! He’s obviously the most hype character of season 2, or of any season.

Just him and birdie overlap when it comes to matchups as they generally win and lose the same ones so there ain’t much point in playing both at a tournament.

Anime influenced isn’t the same thing as anime.

Avatar The Last Airbender is anime influenced but has significantly better story telling, dialogue, character development, etc than basically any anime. At least any that I’ve seen.

ATLA is basically meta anime for people that don’t even watch anime. It basically coasts by on being better than most western cartoons and evolving the characters in smart ways.

It subverts certain Shōnen troupes which makes it pretty fresh. I liked it…
