Nah my dad took me to a Soap and Suds laundromat in Virginia where they had SF2 CE. Mashed electricity and lightning legs with Chun since those were the only moves I could do.

I think my first fighting game was either Soul Calibur 2 or Darkstalkers 3. I played both when I was around 8 or 9.

My friend owned SC2 and I thought Taki was the coolest character in the world at the time. My attention turned to Voldo when my friend should me he could walk and attack backwards at the same time. I guess after that, Voldo became my go-to dude in SC.

With Darkstalkers, I thought I wasn’t good enough to play characters like Morrigan or Felicia. My kid-logic at the time was you had to be really good at the game to play the hot characters or else you’d make the character and yourself look dumb. I also thought Hsien-Ko was mad cute (still do) and button mashed with her the most.
