My gf pointed out to me that if the leaked screens are valid this kunimitsu in T7 is probably not the original. Besides the red hair, this one doesnt seem to have her signature face scar. Since Kunimitsu has been in the game for a long ass time it probably was about time for her to get her “successor” character

Capcom steady with the Dan references to Ryo. His SFV stance is identical to the Ryo stance on the left. His SFV idle stance is identical to the Ryo stance on the right.

As far as my Tekken Lore knowledge goes.
The last Kunimitsu probably died during Tekken 2.
As far as I know she betrayed the Manji Clan and Yoshimitsu took her out during the tournament, before getting the professor.
Her apparenances in the Tag Games don’t count, these are basicaly Dream Matches.

Not that Story matters much in Tekken, since it’s almost as bad as SFVs… it’s a lot more boring tho, since nothing in that world ever happens.
Well not gonna lie, if I can always have the mask off, I might get back into Tekken just for her.
She’s like my 5th overall favorite and she looks realy realy good.
Come on, don’t do em dirty like that.
Tekken does nail the hype fights well. It’s just that stupid monotone narrator that makes it unbearable.
ASF almost makes you believe there will be a good story when it begins, but then every single plot thread is bungled beyond saving.

Do you remember Tekken 4 and 5?
Where the characters had, well characters and were less a collection of stupid tropes.
Where there was Story and writing?
You know why Tekken 6 and 7 have such a shit Story that makes you scratch your head and ask “but why tho?”
Some weedhead called Harada is apparently writing the story since Tekken 6.
Tekken 7s Story is bad and actually super short, cut the Narrator parts out and you get like a 30min Storymode, that does nothing but throw Akuma randomly in and have Heihachi and Kazuya try to kill each other.
Next is crackhead Jin, who did his best to kill hisself in Tekken 6, who is now supposed to be the goddamn savior. The edgy highschool boy, who is 90% of his time depressed and the other 10% either extra edgy or an asshole.
Like goddamn, get the guy who wrote Tekken 4s Story back, he did a great Job in 4.
Of course this has as it’s biggest Rival, Plot Fighter Vs, Love Hadoken Throwing, Spotlioght stealing Hobbo as closest rival, what makes it look actually not that bad.
Also have to say how much I loved the interactions between Nash and Guile, how two super good buddies, one who was looking for the other for basically 2 decades.
They shares so many memorys and good moments.
Ah yeah right, they didn’t exchange a single sentence with each other, cause Ryu had to Plotarmor his way trough the final fight.
I hope Strives Storymode will just be a 3-4 hour long anime movie in ingame graphics.
At least GG did great Story Modes.

Thats fine, the rant boils down to:
SFV and Tekken 7 Story Modes are bad, very bad.
And
I hope Strives Story will just be a 3-4 hour Movie again, cause they were at least fun to watch and had a lot of stuff going on.

IIRC, the original Kunimitsu died fighting against Ogre.
Which is why she only appears on non canon entries aka the Tag series.
I’ve heard that she may have been killed but the stories were conflicting. I’ve heard Yoshimitsu killed her, Ogre killed her, and I’ve also heard that Yoshimitsu simply defeated her. Leaving her free to return to her grandfather.
