The SFV Lounge: MUTINY!

Nobody will be Season 1 Cell. Ever. GT Goku in season 2 maybe, I guess lol…

Jiren definitely got some really significant stuff though. That 214S buff is insane. It will literally parry anything that isn’t a super, and it’s harder to just raw vanish out of it too.

Only time will tell in terms of where he stands now. I have a feeling ArcSys might have overdone it, but I guess we’ll see lol. I’d rather him be too strong than where he was before, either way.

Jokes aside, i hope SF6 is willing to finally move on from the bison/shadaloo era.

They can still add the char as a non story related char, just finally move on to the sf3 era, or even better, pass it.

He worked well in IV as he wasn’t the focus but still a villain looming on the background.

We ain’t ever going past SF3. Next game will either be another damn prequel, a SF3 remake/retcon, or a series reboot.

I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t thank Capcom has the creativity to make a good post-SF3 game.

Yeah, but keeping him alive undermines any pretense of narrative they go for their story.

That lead us to Chun li, Guile and Nash robbery of their stablished roles on bringing him down in favor of the plank karate hobo.

And the fan fiction level of mary sueness of Karin.

Yeah, ialso think they will retell and retcon the sf3 story.

I j7st hope that is better handled than the fall of shadaloo story mode which was a joke.

I already see story modes as a waste of time and resources that could be put into the real core of the games, but i understand that they are needed for the casual fans who make the majority of the sales.

But at least put some effort into it :joy:
If it has to be bad, at least let it be an spectacle like the terribad story modes of nrs games.

At least it was better than whatever was the mvci shit they passed as story.
But that isnt really much, lol.

I am sure there is an arcade rom dump floating around.

There is, with Netplay too.

Didn’t try it tho, busy with not sucking at Melty.

Do you know if the netplay applies to all the nesica dumped games, or if is something applied to rom to rom basis.

I am sure i have all the roms lying around on one of my hdds/servers.
And would be nice to try the netplay on battlefantasia.

Don’t know, can ask someone tomorrow, he should know, he plays the game the whole time.

Like you said if Capcom wants SF to push units they gotta actually put some effort into the single player. I think NRS single player experience is cheeks but the size of their checkbook says they’re doing something right.

Throw in some character customization on top of a half decent story mode I think they’d have something. For whatever reason gamers today like watching video games or using them as virtual dress-up instead of playing.

Dramatic Finish. I’m done.

Oh, so there is hope. I can work with that. Thanks

Not just NRS. Tekken too.

Story ain’t even that good but it pads out content and actually makes casuals feel like they got something beyond “Training mode, offline VS or shitty online” for 60 bucks.

Good single player content draws more people than harmful experiments like oversimplifying games and dumb autocombo nonsense.

This right here is the key. I think SFV would’ve been more successful if it was FTP when it launched barebones af

Ehhhh, i wouldnt really attribute their checks to their single player efforts, at least not only that.

Imo is a combination of brand and mass appeal to the common denominator that thinks violence and gore equals maturity.
And add the WB deep pockets that allows for a far bigger reach.
Lets not forget that before they rebooted everything with MK9, Mk and midway were actually losing money.

I really want to see nrs trying their hands at something original to see how much success will have without brand recognition like mk and inj.

To see if normies will flock to it because is nrs.

Just out of curiosity, but do you actually say this word (is it a word?)? I’ve seen it used online but I’ve never heard it said in real life?

I hate the way it sounds for some reason.

Like a lot of my vocabulary, I said this word ironically at first.

Now I use it pretty regularly
