Thanks Rainscape!!
Hey everyone. I have kind of an interesting story.
First ever fighter was Brawl. Lol, i know. Watched videos of SF4 for 5 months waiting for release. Lurked this site like mad. Thought I had a pretty good idea… got the game, sucked. Played for a bit, but just never got the hang of it.
Started playing Resistance 2, got beastly, played for MLG n such. Did the same with Killzone 2. Thought maybe I’d give SF4 a try again…
So here I am. I really, really need someone who really knows what they are doing to be my Mr. Miyagi. Preferably with a mic. I’m not TERRIBLE, i’m just average.
Side note, I broke my hand in a real street fight lol, but I can still play decently.
My PSN is Str8xBallin. Even if you don’t have mic, add me. Would love a helping hand. I just need to incorporate links and some higher tactics into my game. Thanks in advance.
You can’t rep someone unless you’ve got 500+ posts. Or you can, but it’ll be neutral, thus pointless. Read the forum FAQs.
I’m sure the limit is there to avoid new users neg-repping left and right like Rambo firing an M60 from the hip.
Darksydephil banned me from his videos because I “am too stupid to understand that online play is garbage.”
So basically it means that DSP got mad at me for saying that it is impossible to throw an EX fireball while trying to throw a normal fireball unless he is lying or his stick is messed up.
ha thx… nice avatar…
been playing for 2 weeks, dont seem to be getting any better, im winless in G2, need help
Why doesnt anyone play online on the ps3? is this game predominately xbox players?
this is false. I never have a shortage of ppl to play online.
Hi guys im a complete nub at fighters my background in gaming is mostly FPS like halo and CoD but i really want to get into fighters after i learned that the scene in NY for fighters is really good. I dont have a stick or sf4 but i play MvC 2 for 360 a lot. So if you guys wanna play me in that just add me. GT A Tanex Remains Hope this the right thread
can you tell me how you find people? i go into player match, ranked match, and championship mode and only find 1-2 players tops.
Hello Everyone,
I’m Yagaha_Crystal. I live in Holland(europe) and I’ve been playing this game since 3 weeks after release here. So I’ve been playing for a while now. I have 2 accounts, 1 where i’m a G1 player. And the other I mostly use for playing online with forum members. I’m already a member of 2 forums… But shoryuken is, i thought, THE BEST.
I really want to improve my game and help others, thats why i registered here. I play SFIV of course, I main Abel and i think i’m not that bad with him. I can succesfully do his trials even in match without a lot of trouble, i have decent mixups and i’m not THAT bad at adapting. I’m hoping this forum can make me improve more, tnx to those who are prepared to help me Looking forward to knowing/fighting you all!!
I just want to say, I want to get good at SFIV. I’m not going to bitch and whine about “cheap” tactics. I’m not going to cry about it being “too hard”. I know what it’s like getting really good at a game. SFIV is just my next “project”.
I just want to be able to watch a combo vid on youtube and say to myself “Hmmm. I think I could at least hold my own against that guy”.
So, I really want people here on SRK to help me get good at this game. I’m prepared to get my ass handed to me over and over and over again. Feel free to add me on PSN

alright well im fairly new to this whole Street Fighter community. I recently bought the game off of steam and i just cant stop playing it. I’m attempting to start to get combos together, but theres that FADC thing that keeps popping up. I’m assuming its to cancel a move when in the middle of it? and to do so you press forward or backward twice really fast? im not really sure. also does the FADC take up some of the blue power bar?
my main is ryu just because i havent played this game since super nintendo.
if anyone wants to add me, i play on the computer using a ps3 controller
You can use a focus attack to cancel the animation of certain specials and normals. Doing so burns 2 ex bars.
Most characters have FADC (focus attack, dash cancel) combos, where in they cancel an attack using an FA, then immediately cancel the FA animation by dashing so they can continue the combo.
In Ryu’s case, he can do a shoryuken and cancel it with an FA before he gets off the ground, and then immediately dash forward and juggle his opponent with an ultra.
Ok. I’ve been thinking on the stick usage.
What sticks do people use? Right now I’m using the Hori Fighting Stick EX 2. It seemed ok. It did everything I wanted it to do. But if I go to training mode and turn on “Input Data” it seemed VERY sensitive for the directions.
Comparing this to my friend’s Madcatz TE Stick, the TE stick’s buttons are… very sensitive. Its like a light touch just pushes it down fully (which is quite neat). The stick however is more stiff and if I do “Input Data” I can actually do downforward, downforward (or 33) without it giving things like
downforward, down, forward, downforward or random arrows (like it does in the Hori EX2)
The Hadoken Motion also seems to be different for both sticks, eventhough they’re both square gate (due to the stiffness of the stick).
So I’m just wondering if I should still practice on the Hori stick, or not…
Essentially, is my execution lacking due to the sensitivity of the Hori stick over the TE stick?
And what sticks do you guys use?
Hello everybody I’m new here, but I have drifted these forums the last month. I finally have gotten my computer repaired, so now I have became a member. I’m not really a beginner to SF4 I’ve had it since the week after the release, but my Xbox(Sucks there are no Street Fighter 4 machines anywhere near me.) got RROD back in April. I just started playing SF4 again a few months ago. I don’t really main any character as of yet. I do play as Cammy, Gen, Ryu, or Balrog normally when I play Street Fighter 4 online.
Hi everyone!
I’m an Italian Street Fighter player. I play with my home-made custom stick and usually select Sakura or Ken.
I’m looking around to see if I can get some hints on how to get better! Still a G3A:looney:
But when I lose, I always got that feeling that says “You are an idiot, you could have won that easily!” LOL
Bye Bye
Cool thread. I have bookemarked it…Cant believe i never found it before.
Not trying to just post for the sake of posting , just need to tell you it is awsome. I feel i need to read this thread and fully understand every post before i post again with stupid questions in the wrong place…
This site has become my SF4 bible. I used to think i was good, now i know how bad i am lol
What character should I, as a n00b try to learn?
Whichever one you think is the coolest.
Then if you change your mind later on then you can change mains, and your overall game will be stronger for having seen how things work from the other side. More experience can only help you.
