Thanks for the advice… though yeah, I might have to work to get past his appearance heh. I think you’re right though. I was recently doing my arcade playthroughs to unlock characters and the first thing I thought when I went to Rufus was “Wow, he’s retarded looking! … But I really like the way he plays.”
Rufus looks way cooler than most of the SFIII cast such as Oro, Necro, and Twelve.
Hello guys!
Ive played SF2 on SNES long time ago. And now getting better and better in SF4
How many frames of throw invincibility do you have during wake up?
You are throw invincible for your entire wakeup animation.
IIRC for all characters the wakeup animation is 10 frames. Don’t quote me on that though since I can’t find the original source for that info.
I’m new, and I have a very big question.
I have a tournament edition stick, and I’m just noticing now the option “Controller Type”
You can switch it from Controller, to Arcade stick… but what I want to know… and I can’t find this anywhere…
Is what exactly does that do?
Does it make any significant changes to the way the game reacts to my input?
What’s the deal? It’s not in the instruction booklet, and I can’t find it anywhere online…
If anyone has the answer to this, I would greatly appreciate it.
They’re just default button mappings.
Since you have an arcade stick you should choose ‘arcade’ and then you’ll get the standard arcade layout:
LP MP HP
LK MK HK
It doesn’t affect the gameplay in any way.
-backdashing has 7 frames of invinciblilty.
-tick throwing is great for mix ups
-install your game if you play online
-have fun
If all they are is default button mappings… why don’t the button mappings change when you move from controller to Arcade Stick?
Also, the fact that the button layout is completely customizable, doesn’t make any sense why there would be an “Arcade Stick” or “Controller” layout… much less if changing them doesn’t move the button layout.
Sorry, but your answer doesn’t make much sense to me.
What do you mean that they don’t move when you go from controller to Arcade Stick? If you’re talking about the screen, then they certainly do change.
If you have it set on Custom then they don’t change, but the 3 different presets for Arcade Stick and three different ones for pad are all fairly different, except for TYPE C which just changes the PPP and KKK buttons to no function. (For the Hori EX2 I think, since it only has 6 buttons)
SFIV detects what kinda stick you have and will set the appropriate preset, so you don’t have to waste time with the layout. I don’t think you would want to try to use the preset arcade button mappings on a pad, since they are extremely awkward.
Okay, this is gonna be a bit awkward but who cares.
So I just got this game and I really suck at it. I know all the moves and what not but I just don’t know when to use them. The only times that I win online is when I spam jumping diagonal fireballs with Akuma. So to simply put, how do I get better? Should I keep on playing online and hopefully learn to get good or should I complete some trials, survival, etc. mode?
Cheers. =D
Edit: What are the benefits of Battle Points?
Generally the best way to learn is to do. You’ll get better as you play. Don’t adapt the motto of “Oh he won because he was cheap” “Oh he won because he’s using noob tactics”. Look for ways to better your game when you lose. Watching videos of other players can sometimes help, but it might all just be over the top at this point, and look like a bunch of rubbish.
The amount of BP you have is directly proportional to the size of your E-penis.
Really, it’s just a supposed measure of “skill” of a player. Though through boosting that’s largely gone out the window. It still can remain a very general guide as to how “good” a player is.
Thanks bro. I guess I have to just keep playing to get good then. xP
And that’s all BP does? If I’d known that earlier then I’d wouldn’t of been a pussy to play it.
Yeah, BP is just a matchmaking tool. The idea is that people with similar BP are of similar skill.
You certainly shouldn’t be afraid to play ranked matches or championship mode just because you’re new at the game.
:karate:
Can someone tell me if the USA version comes with Spanish subtitles or menus?. Thanks.
It doesn’t have it last time I check.
I’m on xbox live, and I want to save the replay, but I don’t see the option. I have saved a game before.
What is the best way to get myself into the habit of using Focus Attacks? Doing it on arcade on hard? Trying to just thrust it into my normal game? Training mode and seeing it’s range and charge times and getting comfortable with it?
IIRC, Even if you have made the leaderboard with one of your previous CP amounts, you must beat your previous record and still be on the leaderboard with the record in order to be able to save a replay. For example, if you make 50k CP in a tournament and are able to save a replay, and you do, then you do another tournament and only get 49,999 CP, you won’t be able to, but if you get 50,001 you can.
Does anyone have a trick to stop me from mashing out commands too much. 1/2 of my problem playing is doing ultras/supers by accident when just trying to throw a qcf or shk motion. I can pull off the ultras/supers when i want to on purpose i just accidentally do them way to often and they punish my face whenever i screw up. A tip on training blocking would be nice too if anyone has one.
