well, I was gonna start a thread about this, like I’d do on most other forums i post on… but my rank here isn’t enough… but I understand… lol anyways here’s the thing… including myself (which I’d say i’m decent)… but we need a cheat card set of moves and common combos…
what i’m saying is a set (for each character) of moves/combos to print up and keep handy…
not cuz I/we suck… but because i’lll accept a challenge Random vs Random…
but I don’t know every move by heart… and it’d be nice to have a reference handy…
something like a page per character… of specials/combos…
oh, and sorry if I repeated this… searched a few times but didnt find anything ssssoooo…
There’s combos listed under each Char’s forum. Also, they have a strategy guide out, that actually has some good combos, and gives you an idea of what match ups suit a char best.
‘Oki’ was a new one for me too. It’s a whacky japanese name for ‘meaty attacks’ - i.e. hitting your opponent with the last few active frames of an attack just as they are getting up after a knock down.
yeah I often leave a tab on my browser open but its a pain in the nuts to have to jump up and turn the monitor and wait for the page to load…
I was hoping to find some… flash card like pdf or something I can print a set for each character and have them handy… or like some decent artwork and print it up at kinkos and laminate…
is it possible to combo after a level 1 focus attack?
i absorbed a hit, released the foucs attack, it hits them, i dash foward, but my jabs don’t come out as fast as if a level 2 or 3 hits them. is this normal?
From my experience a full gauge provides more damage… I COULD be wrong (as i dont do all the number crunching and frame counting) but its what i have observed
Yes, that’s right. Full Revenge Gauge causes more damage to your oponent, than less filled.
I’ve got question too: in movelist I observed one maneuvre called “CHARGE”. For example in most of Vega’s movements, including Super and Ultra Combo.
What does it mean to Charge? For example: back(CHARGE)forward…
I have a general etiquette question: I can only play, with any sort of skill, with Sakura. I guess I can do quarter circles and foward, down forward with anyone but I really only know how to play well with Sakura. If I were to play you in player match for an extended period of time and you’re picking a different character every match and I’m just sticking with my main, how does that make you feel? Do you get upset that I’m not picking different people or do you even care??
I kind of get irritated when I’m losing and the other person keeps switching characters because I never get a chance really to rematch or adapt to the character because it’s always switching up.
if sakura is your main then who cares if you only pick her and as far as
matching up with certain characters go to record in training mode and work on countering certain moves and how to properly block them etc…
Practice your timing.
Suppose someone is jumping over me/rolling through me/transporting through me. I want to execute a move as he crosses to the other side–let’s say an ultra, :qcf::qcf::3p:. Should I start the motion as :qcb: so that relative to my opponent’s new position at time of execution it’s actually :qcf:? I hope someone understands what I’m asking and can explain the logistics of this part of the input system.
Are there moves other than Armor Breaking special moves that beat Focus Attacks? I think I have noticed some characters’ normal moves beating out my Focus Attacks. On a related note, I can still absorb an attack between charging it and its active frames, right?
Is there a list of moves of each character that makes him or her invincible (or to fireballs at least)? This is not in the frame data. There are some things that are quick to learn, but invisible properties like this are trickier.
