hi ive just got this game, and i am new to street fighter really.
having a quick look at some posts about tactics with different characters theres a lot of terminology i cant understand. eg. i know LP must be light punch, MP, HP… medium, hard punches., but theres a lot of terminology i dont get = SADC… stuff like that, or lp tu… whats tu? can some show me where theres a list of what the abbreviations mean please?
whats does whiffed mean? cl.HK ? c.MP? SRK?
lots of terminology is confusing to me, i definately need a guide or something.
also what is with all the shorthand slang people on this forum use in some of the threads its is hard to understand a word people are saying?
I use the PS3 with SF4, and my sn is ‘msolnirpekanlot’
Anyone in Santa Cruz County and anywhere else that wants to get together to have a few matches just leave a comment or PM and what not. I want to get better at this game, so i can eventually get into tournaments…
Hey everyone I’m new here. Just dropped by to say hello. I don’t have SFIV, but I’ve played it at Gamestops a few times and have found it very addicting. One thing I was wondering about it though, is that i heard that you can have different voices for the characters. Is it possible to have some on English and Japanese and others in French or whatever country they’re from?
B&B combo?
ultra after FA cancel,
FADC?,
what does it mean when you say cancel a normal into an ultra or ex?
how do i cancel a move then?,
kara fadc?,
how do i cancel heavy kick into medium kick shoreyuken?
Several lists of all those words here already. They are all mechanics in the games.
You don’t do a medium kick shoryuken because the shoryuken is a punch.
You cancel a move by inputting the next move just when the other hits. Go through trials, and you’ll learn about it. You’ll see the character start kicking but not withdrawing his leg before doing the next move, for instance. Many moves cannot be cancelled into other moves.
Example: c.mk -> hadoken. If you finish the hadoken motion while the medium kick is happening, Ryu’s foot won’t withdraw and he’ll go directly into a hadoken, and it registers as a 2 combo hit. Same if you rotate the stick the other way after pressing m.kick, and any kick button will set off a Hurricane kick before you withdraw your foot.
FADC means Focus Attack Dash Cancel. You cancel, say a fierce shoryuken by tapping the Focus attack buttons, then quickly dash forward and input the ultra move. Since you dash cancelled the shoryuken, Ryu won’t jump but still launch the opponent into the air so you can hit him on the way down with the ultra.
hey all, I’m no noob to fighting games but, i am new to SRK, so im just dropping my first post in here. hoping to enjoy these forums, they seem very useful
yea i can feel the pain of many ppl that try to go hard and play anyone online…
i mean i did that and ended up getting smacked easily by everyone haha… watching vids online and seeing how ppl react and counter opponents moves has helped me a lot… its weird cause its like you knoe what you want to do its just exactly pulling it off to get the moves/combos u want to come out… guess thats what practice is for
kept reading the forums and custom fightstick gallery so i just had to join glad to be here
A lot of combos begin with a jump-in fierce/roundhouse. However, in games I feel like I can never jump in against most characters, since it’s so easy to be countered with a shoryuken or Blanka’s electricity, etc. How do you ever get in a safe jump-in attack? I’ve read about the “safe jump-in” concept, but I don’t think that applies here since it specifically involves jumping in after a knockdown.
For characters with air throws, how do you time your jump and your throw? It seems like for me, I need to basically anticipate and jump forward at the same time as my opponent in order to get close to them in the air. The problem with that is if I anticipate wrong I get killed. If I try to wait until I see them jump before I jump, they will land before I get to them. So what’s the trick for getting in air throws?
And change the title song to japanese lyrics. Doesn’t get any better though. They found a guy that sounds EXACTLY like the US version…or the other way around.
