it’s different for errrryone. some people such as myself end up losing their hand positioning mid fight if there are two extra buttons, and it totally messes up their game.
other people never have a problem with two extra buttons.
this was one of the heated debates on the madcatz stick thread while it was still in development.
as for mapping something to those extra buttons, i would shy away from that b/c every tourney as different rules about mapping buttons.
truuuuue
for most fighting games i’ve played on console in the past, playing with the 2 player controller will usually put you on the right side.
i actually don’t have this particular game on console yet, so i can’t say for sure about street fiytah fo.
different for everyone. some people own up with pad.
but 9/10 times, if there’s a question regarding stick vs pad, the answer will be:
“it mostly depends on preference, but just know that the overwhelming majority of serious players use sticks.”
if you want to get into street fiytah, the sooner you get a stick the better.
Hey is there a way to know who you’ve beaten the game with already? I’m trying to get seth and I’m trying to not waste time beating the game with the same person more then 1 time
I have every character but seth. I only beat it 1 or 2 times per day so it’s hard to keep track.
Hey SRK, longtime lurker here. Thanks for this thread, and thanks for all your resources that you make available to all newcomers. I hope to be fighting some of you online before too long. And again, I appreciate the work you all put into this.
I’m newbie in Street Fighter 4, so i’ve got newbie question. xD
Question about victory icons, you know what do I mean.
After winnng a round, under the vital guage you get it.
V - Normal victory
P - Perfect
S - Super Combo Finish
U - Ultra Combo Finish
T - Time expired victory
D - Draw
… what about C? I always wondered what does C means and I couldn’t find it anywhere…
Okay, here’s something I can’t figure out. I can’t do the double-QCF Supers/Ultras when I’m on the left side, on a joystick. No matter how I try to hold the joystick, it just comes out as slow and awkward, and it doesn’t seem to matter how much I practice. At least for the dragon punch motion there is the DF, DF trick, but otherwise I’d have a similar problem with that.
On the right side (facing left), you can basically just wiggle the joystick and your arm motion naturally does the motion, but on the left side (facing right), it seems to either require some finger dexterity that I don’t have, or some sort of unnatural arm motion.
Does anyone have any tricks for how to hold the joystick to get this to come out better?
Question: FADC - does it refer primarily to the canceling of the FA entirely, or just the final frames? I was messing around in training and managed to cancel the entire attack from the startup/charge phase?
Also, what are the specifics of this? I did it by basically taking my fingers off the attack buttons and dashing, rather than holding the buttons and dashing, is that all there is to it?
Go into Training Mode and set it to display inputs. The screen will display your actual controller inputs, and you can compare them to your intended inputs and see what’s going wrong.
I had the same problem. I eventually solved it by just practicing like dude said up above. When I listened to the clicks that the stick made when I rotated it normally vs when I did it slowly, I realized that I wasn’t doing the motion properly so i just took that into consideration next time I played
3rd : in this video you can see Daigo with Ryu versus Wakatsuki Tinatsu with Chun li
At 03:38 you can see chun li and ryu face to face in standing positions. Ryu jump and Chun li crouch in the “same” time. And after that Chun li pull an Ex cyclone kick on ryu.
For me when i see that it was like impossible to do that but now i can understand how the guy did it on Ryu.
The point of this post it’s just to talk about charge move to let know to every players that you only need less of 1 second to fully charge a move.
I think, it will change a lot of thing to the strategies of charge players.
I am the only who have a lot of problems with the online?
With a connection of FTTH having about 5ms of ping in my country and a maximum of 80 in all europe, at this moment when I search games with default options, the game says to me that he cant find games on any type of game, ranked or normal.
And I really really think that over the world I am not the only guy who is playing at this moment.
