Yeah…that’s the move.
I too noticed that it doesn’t really juggle the bosses well…only in Hero Time.
Yeah, that’s Eastern Winds (L1 + Triangle). With the combo I posted (using the air version), you have to catch bosses as low as possible, otherwise they’ll fall out of it after a few hits. That’s my non-Basara combo of choice right now, until I unlock more of his supers and level up his TAP to max.
Although not neccessary (as was said, you can get through this game by mashing the same move over & over), I love how some movesets have enough depth that folks can have discussions on them.
I’m saving Mitsunari & Magoichi’s playthroughs until I’m at a point where I’m getting bored of the game. Just from the demo, I know Mitsunari is full of tricks. And just from a 10-min trial session, Magoichi can store/charge her (I think it was) square attack, then evade cancel the recovery animation. So both characters should rejuvenate my interest when I get to that point.
I know there’s no DLC, but I’d gladly pay for an online co-op mode of that Invasion stage. Just trying to one-up each other in kills, not having to run around much, all while defending a common goal…that’s pretty much my ideal co-op for these types of games.
Eastern Winds can be done in the air?
Can’t wait to try that out…
Really wished that was organized better. the spacing throws me off. But thank you regardless. my girlfriend squealed when I showed her. lol.
Her mains are Magoichi and Masamune.
I’ve been using Mitsunari and Yukimara (or as I dubbed him the Samurai Pizza Cat)
to why I call him Samurai Pizza Cat
[details=Spoiler]
One of his battle cries is “I’m the Tiger Samurai!” and as soon as he said that I instantly thought of Samurai Pizza Cats so I’ve been calling him that ever sense.[/details]
Is there way to grind ATK and DEF? Cause only getting HP when you level is kinda stupid. :\
Nope, the only way to get ATK/DEF is to defeat the Fugitives in each level. There’s some posts in regards on how to find them and what each one drops earlier in the thread.
Unrelated, but if anyone is looking on a easy way to get Damiyo Helmets, play through Anegatsoki (sp?) on Hard with a decently-leveled Keiji, and parry the archer’s arrows on the bridge for a while. Once you get 9 helmets, make the item that lets you auto-parry bullets and arrows, and herp derp through Anegatsoki and the Saica level.
I’m having a real hard time picking up who to play next. I’m just gonna level up Kotaro/Yukimura/Mitsunari for now.
Cleared Ieyasu/Mistunari/Masamune/Yukimura.
Damn I abused Yukimura’s Firestorm on grunts…and some bosses. It totally raped Oichi.
I’m stuck on who to use next…but it will most likely be Hanbei. Gonna loathe playing as Manface Saica.
I tried playing her earlier. SO damn boring. The only cool thing about her is switching between guns but it’s nowhere near as satisfying as playing as Yukimura or Mitsunari.
I played through the game with everyone but Motonari. He’s…not as fun as everyone else.
I got a Damiyo helmet…now I know why.
Masamune was actually a struggle for me…
Almost every battle I was in the red. Fought Munishige/Yoshihiro…Munishige is a monster.
I could not for the life of me guard break that poor man’s Honda.
After the 5th try, I had to resort to spamming Date’s R2. Taking them both on head on was suicide.
Meanwhile…I bodied Honda, Kojuro, Date, and Ieyasu in Yukimura’s SG battle.
Yukimura is good again.
AHHHHHH I finally killed Tadakatsu. Mistunari’s R1 is so damn retarded. It freezes bosses no problem. Tadakatsu got raped. He and that giant guy that fights under Sorin.
In a previous page I posted a list of which fugitives give you attack and defense boosts, which is prob. Page 27 (don’t be a lazy ass, just click it at the top or bottom of the page). To make hunting them easier, use Quick Battle and have Hanzo as your ally. To unlock Hanzo, you must first unlock Kotaro (beat the game with Yukimura), then do the following-
1- Beat Kotaro’s main path
2- Select Kotaro and take his 2nd path by fighting- Tsuruhime–>Motochika–>Mitsunari or Saica–>Tokugawa
When Hanzo has max confidence he will display the location of a fugitive on the stage’s map. Take note that fugitives will usually appear 2 mins into a stage you are playing in.
Fugitives give you 10k EXP, and if they are KOed while in Hero mode you will get 20k exp (well u get double exp for whomever u KO when in Hero Mode really)
@Cryoh- Wait a minute, I can make that acc. that automatically parries bullets and arrows, but I never knew you can use it to get the higher level helmets O_o thanks for the info!
…also why people hating on Saica?
The only problem with the accessory is that it works a bit too well, and it automatically reflects the projectile back to the opponent, which normally one-shots them. It’s still good enough to get 3-5 damiyo helmets per run, though.
Saica…I dunno why people hate her. She’s a bit too simple, but Charged normal shot + 6 Gold Halberd = LOL
Hold up…how do I parry?
Is it when I hit the porjectile back with an attack?
And about the fugitives…
- Can they be captured in Free mode?
- Does the game keep note of captured fugitives so far?
parry is just tap guard right before any attack hits you, you must tap and let go or it won’t parry and just guard instead. I’m not sure if hitting a projectile back manually counts as a parry, it might, but I dunno.
- yes
- yes, in freemode there’s a little mark next to each stage where you’ve gotten one.
I just find her damn boring to play.
Started on Kanbei…fucking molasses.
Kanbei on Sorin’s stage was an ass and a half…
Kanbei is freaking slow.
Munishige is at least 2x faster than Kanbei.
The flagwavers slow Kanbei down even more.
So I had no choice but to fight him…which took me 35 minutes.
