Ohh, I get it now. Thanks!!
If you do this, donāt cover the solder joint.
Before buying some Sanwa for my first ever mod I wonder are the 2 quick disconnects for each button unique? Or so long 2 of the same colors go to a new button is enough for it to work?
I just dont want to mess upā¦
Theyāre not unique.
Apologies if this has already been asked.
The photograph showing each stickās springs on Slagcoin makes the LS-32 and LS-40 springs appear identical. Is that a correct assumption? If not, has anyone tried putting an LS-40ās spring into an LS-32 to lighten the tension? If that isnāt possible, whatās a reliable method of slightly lowering the resistance of an LS-32 to be more similar to a Sanwa JLF, aside from stretching (or is it compressing?) the original spring?
Slagcoin does mention that āsprings can be exchanged among certain models to modify tension,ā but Iām assuming there are limits and that the new spring should ideally have the same diameter so as not to negatively affect the performance of the stick.
Thanks for any info.
cut it for less tension
stretch it for more
slagcoin already mentions it (farther down on the page you were looking at) what parts work with the others. It mentions that the springs are the same.
Question for anyone who has ever had the Seimitsu solid color buttons with the black rim (PS-14-GN):
How do these hold up over time? I have heard from different people that they seem to wear out really fast after awhile, has anyone else had this happen? I really like the look of these buttons but donāt want to trade performance for looks. Does anyone have an opinon on these buttons?
They use the same microswitch as any other standard Seimitsu button, so you wonāt see any difference in performance or lifespan.

Thank you Paik, speedy response lol :lovin:
I ended up going with the JLF and getting the battop acessory + adapter, with an octagon gate too.
Thanks a million.
ā¦Dāoh! :wasted:
Thanks though. But I do wonder, when you cut it you lose that nice straight edge on the top or bottom of the spring, and instead youāre left with an angular end. Has anyone noticed a decrease in tension consistency or anything of that sort after attemping this? I know the angular end will be compressed a bit when installed into the stick body, but better safe than sorry.
for future reference, that ānice straight edgeā is called a closed end.
Just wanted to say a general āthank-youā for this sticky - as sort of a new comer to SRK and sticks, itās super informative. Thanks!
Where in VA are you, Paik?
Centreville actually. So right near you.

Awesome thread, thanks Paik for taking the time out to help us all out!
So I plan on making on stick shortly and so far I have the wired 360 controller Iām going to use and I plan on ordering either the transparent seimitsuās or sanwa buttons and probably the jlf stick. Aside from the materials to build the case and the wires what else to I need to make it work? I would like the option to wire it to a PS pcb in the future, can the buttons/ stick be wired to 2 separate pcbs or do I need some sort of intermediary?
btw: Paik and Toreus, where are you guys located in relation to Lynchburg? (Iāve heard of Fairfax and Centreville but have no clue where they are)
Paik(or anyone with who can help): Do you know offhand if which sticks will fit into the SE edition Madcatz? I am thinking of putting a LS-40-01 and a LS-56-01 as I have always wanted to try these sticks. If they will not fit in the SE, will they fit in a hrapSA? Thanks, and if this info is posted somewhere else, my bad
Hey guys I had a question about the JLF. I have a shaft cover on mine, and I wanted to try using a bat top with the adapter, but whenever I tighten it down all the way it seems to apply force to the shaft cover and restricts the movement of the stick.
It seems like it should fit ok because of the extra space under the bat top, but maybe it is pressing against the pivot too much or somethingā¦ Do I need to sand it down?
Is it getting stuck on the dust cover? The shafts donāt use the stock one. (You proably already checked this.)
