Good games at the mike Ponce tournament. we should give it a mandatory 3 dollar fee to pay for pizza or something next time. 20 people, 3 dollars, that’s 60 bucks and plenty of pizza to go around. anyway that and get a bigger room for sure next time.

wadup guys. i recently just got admitted to ucsc and im wondering what the 3s and marvel scene is like over there, 3s in particular. where are the places to play at over there and how far is santa cruz from any other hot locations where 3s players play? thx alot.
Sorry to disappoint, but the scene is pretty horrid here for capcom fighters. I don’t know anyone here that plays marvel. 3s is the only capcom fighter that really gets any action here, but its still limited to a very small group of people (there’s only about 5 of us that play it often). I did throw a tourney here, but it was pretty much a bunch of noobs and scrubs :sad:. There were only maybe a couple of people who could transition from scrubtacular to decent player.
As far as places to play go, we only play at each others houses. The Boardwalk doesn’t have 3s or Marvel, only CvS2 for a major Capcom fighter. Even at that, the cabinet is usually in shitty condition, the sticks suck (JR and co., I’m sure you guys know how much better I play on good sticks 
), and it’s also 50 cents to play. There’s still a group of people that play it there though. So no cades to go to here in SC. Besides, Jeff’s plasma at his place is too good anyway.
On the other hand, if you’ve got a car SVGL is just over the hill at about a 25-30 minute drive.
Why the hell am I making long ass posts on SRK when I’ve got finals to study for that are in less than 24 hours. I wish I was practicing more Johnny instead. Or tackle tackle reflector. Anything but books. Shut up now Mike. :looney:
ouch. no 3s or marvel cab in sc? okie. well you said sc has 5 players that play often, expect a 6th this upcoming fall semester:wgrin: i guess svgl will be the arcade of choice then. worth the 30 min drive i guess . and anyone go to ucsc? how is the campus? im going to down there and check it out soon, but i just wanted to get a direct opinion of it first.
svgl is 40 minutes away. 17 is a 30-35 minute drive from ocean street to highway 85.

We generally play on console I think(it’s free and boardwalk is 50 cents per play), but lately I’ve had a reason to go to the boardwalk to play tekken DR.
