Salty Bet has been running random character MUGEN matches since the beginning of July. Patrick interviewed Salty a few days ago, but somehow there isn’t a SRK thread for Salty Bet yet.
In Salty Bet, you bet fake money on the winner of a fighting game match. When there’s a major fighting game tournament going on, there are bets on that, just like BisonBucks used to. Otherwise, Salty runs a mostly 24/7 stream of automated AI vs AI matches in MUGEN, the most dysfunctional, unbalanced fighting game system ever made. Salty Bet uses about 300 characters that have been created in the past 14 years, and they vary wildly in terms of quality, source material, fighting style, attack power, health, and AI stupidity. Use your fighting game knowledge to guess the winner, and watch the Twitch chat get hype about the match.

The tips below are a work in progress, but will be kept to a minimum.
Beginner tips
You will lose all your money, but you’ll always have least $10 at all times
There are roughly 300 characters in the game at any time, including some with duplicate names
Try to spot patterns among the characters that win a lot, even if Twitch chat says they suck
Most characters have bad AI that don’t use their good moves very much
Never go all-in when a Dragon Ball Z character is involved, since the fight becomes random
Characters you should typically bet on
Characters from Gem Fighter, Melty Blood, Samurai Shodown, or Cardcaptors
Names that contain Arrange, Evil, Death, 71113, SSJ4, SSJ5, or Kun
Edits of other characters with different names
Large boss characters
Characters from American cartoons, TV, and fast food
Characters you should typically avoid betting on
Characters from Guilty Gear, JoJo’s, Big Bang Beat, or Sonic
Small characters
OS-tans and Japanese Internet memes
Non-Melty Blood maids
Glitchy sprites and corrupted color palettes

Edit: There are bad Touhou chars now, and all Gem Fighter chars are good. Also added Death and SSJ4, but why bother? SRK hates Salty Bet.
