By playing around, I meant just messing around with other characters and see whats up with them and what I can do.
So far i’ve messed with:
Greed
Viren
Hazama
Aran
Lud (Too slow IMO)
Garnet (Not enough though)
Orville
Mito
and probably some others that I can’t remember at the moment.
Every character is good. The trick is the air games. Sheryll has a nasty air game.
What air game? There’s no vertical flying screen, and the width is likely another half screen’s worth at best. You just said yourself that it’s pointless to jump.
garnet is top, aran, hikari, orville, mito, viren. mid would be zen, kaya, lud, greed, blah. u guys are close minded and dont try things and sound like when marvel or cvs2 came out and everyone bitch about whoever. tiers changes all the time till people really play the game out and greed is trash and hes weak on a scale with everone else cuz hes fast. mess with the game and learn shit dont just go by what someone says. hint: dash back is godlike with certain people. jolt is great with some and parrys own all.
There are way to many people who play the game that don’t know the system. I play my Mito like OG Sagat in her normal stance. They jump, I DP, if I have super I use it as a cancel. People who actually know what theyre doing will just dodge the fireball and punish.
Air dodging isn’t completely useless BTW. As air to air you can air dodge and land and the opponent lands too. Basically a standstill. Its way better than getting hit out of the air and eating some gay ass Greed jab shit or whatever else other characters can do.
Sheryl doesn’t have an air to air game. She just plants bombs on the screen while jumping. Whats bad about her is that she can’t blow up the bombs while blocking and her startup to blow them up takes FOREVER.
Explain what you mean by air game. If you mean by loading up on bombs on the top of the screen, then Sheryl has one of the better anti jump games in the game.
Losing to Justin on Saturday just made me really, really depressed. I had alot of confidence in that game and he pretty much destroyed it. Several perfects, and only once did I do damage (with Beatrice no less). I honestly can not see a way out of constantly being jabbed, especially with characters who have consecutive specials (Aran / Hazama). Characters who can constantly stay on you already rule the game, and I really don’t see that changing any time soon, if at all. c.LP / LK is just too good when coupled with a fast running speed.
The reason the entire rest of the cast is mid is because they can’t counter-act well enough to this and / or have no substantial way of keeping the opponent off of them. I also think meter builds far too fast for my liking.
And I’ll damn well complain about shit I don’t like / agree with. I don’t know how long it’ll be before I can actually figure a way around Hazama / Greed rushdown, but I’m not holding my breath, and I hope someone brings in MB:AC already.
Impact break is very important in this game for everyone.
Chibi, if you’re getting rushed down or getting put into blockstrings, wait to see what their last hit on teh blockstring is going to be, Impact break it and counter attack. Its no use to impact break and continue blocking.
Impact break won’t work because the defensive meter builds up too slowly, and because certain characters can counter-act quicker than your impact break (ie: Aran and Hazama, who can continue their specials even after you IB).
Ah, stop whining Chibi and get your ass off Kaya and actually play as Aran and Hazama a couple of times, if nothing else to see what they’re capable of and to KNOW when you can IB and counter attack.
