Welcome Paul. The scene down here isn’t really new this thread is though lol. It’s been around for roughly 10-11 years. The scene in the Edinburg/McAllen/Pharr area is full of players. Check out NE1 LAN CNTR in McAllen, that is where most of those players play. They also have get togethers in Pharr. Harlingen plays mostly MvC3 right now and Brownsville has a few players as well. Next tournament coming up is in July I believe so you should check that out to get a taste of how a tournament works.

Hey guys. UCC The Southwest Championship will be this Saturday and Sunday. Saturday will be Super Street Fighter 4 AE (Guaranteed $500 pot), Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (Guaranteed $500 pot) and Mortal Kombat. Sunday will be Halo Reach 4 vs 4 and Super Smash Bros Brawl. Registration opens at 10 am. The venue is closing at 6pm, so we must start at 12:30pm sharp. If you are late, you risk entering the losers bracket, if there is room. If nobody knows about this tourney then it must be unknown players from out of town attending UTB and making a tourney there?!?!? Should be interesting lol!! On a side note, anybody know if ads will be posted around the local newspaper regarding tournament being held at the McAllen Convetion Center on July 8 & 9. Would be nice to see an ad on the Sunday newspaper in the coming weeks!!
