i hope the game picks up too :(, and i would like for someone to actually point out my mistakes after a set instead of me trying to figure out wtf im doing half the time
Yup. But, that was only in reference to the issue of people trying to play 3S at that particular timeā¦ and in reference to situations when tournaments deny 3S because of the TV/stick/system issues. Itās not worth the hassle for like the 4 people who would be willing to play it. lol And now that sticks and TVās wonāt be the issue, it still wonāt resolve anything. Because againā¦only like 4 people are willing to play it. That was an issue for the current base of players.
3SOE will not build on top of the current 3S scene at all. People who are willing to play it, already are. Very small minority at that. Everybody else trying it for the first time is most likely SFIV generation. 3S is anti-SFIV. Good luck backdashing out of a blockstring, or mashing an invincible/EX/DP move during a block string. 3S goes against the fundamentals that SFIV laid down to a whole new generation. And it severely lacks the eye candy for joe casual to get pulled in.
3S is the new T6. Tournies gonna pop up everywhere. People gonna show upā¦realize online tactics donāt work. Or that move wasnāt as good as they thought it was cuz their friends donāt properly punishā¦and then they will never show up again. (Just like that first T6 tourny at NE1 Lan. Shit load of people showed up for it. I was all hype because they all were saying they were from McAllen and Edinburg. Only 2 were non Valley. None of those local players ever showed up again.) lol

There was a thread somewhere here on SRK that I was reading earlier about the new gen and 3S. Was actually created by a guy who didnāt start playing till SF4 came out. Had some good stuff about noobs. Read a few other threads about noobies to 3S and a lot of people some to agree that the new gen will have a very difficult time with this game.
Great points from it were:
-Lots of new players will try and quit for it not being SF4 (no shortcuts here)
-Itās VERY not scrub friendly
-New generation will get demolished by the old schoolers with years of experience and stop playing
-They will hate the parry system
-Doesnāt have up to date graphics so it will be a turn off
I seriously didnāt even think about the parry system turning off new players till I read that thread.
I need more old school games to get brought back but not changed like 3S.
EDIT:
Also tonight on NBC at 8 o clock they will show Ninja Warrior (that japanese beast obstacle course), more then likely they will only show the Americans but still itās a badass watch if you do and donāt know what it is. Those people are stupidly strong, I seriously wish I could do that stuff. Ninja Warrior is starting to get a lot of attention so NBC is running it this year (actual japan competition) to see if they should pick it up for next year. The American quailfiers run on G4 and you can see the past years competition from time to time on there to.

Given the bad reputation that Yun got in SSF4, I donāt want to make new players even angrier, so Iāll be using Alex and Remy mainly.
I hope the game picks up.
Ey maybe we can set up a lobby with me, Jive, David, Jim and whoever from here who wants to play, and after that weāll post some advice here.
Iām down to play with anyone who wants to get better. I canāt play till Thursday night though.
Iāll be online tonight playing Marvel too in case anyone wants to play.
I dont know JD can you work a miracle and make me not suck at 3s , Also fuck the new Kids on the block Yun that shit up all day JD its not like there not going too experience it anyway.
This post is going to jump around so much lolā¦wrote a song about it like to hear it here it goes. (LOL I miss In Living Color)
Onions Internet Connection + 3SOE = Most annoying match on Earth. In Marvel all his characters get teleport because of thisā¦HACKS I SAY ITāS HAXORS!!!
Onion: I might be able to play in person Thursday night if you want to get some 3S games in.
Everybody needs to experience a Yun rape in 3S at least once in their life. Itās like a right of passage into 3S.
I donāt have a PS3 so Iām not getting 3S till tomorrow but does anybody know if the game has spectator mode for the lobbies?
-DJ-
thats cuz marvel sucks online thats why, other then that its all good
Itās H4X0Rz!!!
-DJ-
Yes it has spectator mode and up to 8 people per lobbies, at least ps3 does but shouldnāt be much different then xbox. Since I pre-ordered 3rd strike, I will have Gill unlocked from the start and can be playable online except in tournament mode.

3S is now live on PSN. Also I totally forgot that it has an upload to youtube option, sweet now I can rewatch how much I suck. Great learning tool if you take the time to study yourself. Wish I still had my old Yang avatar I had from 05-06.
My body is ready

Currently uploading game. Iāve been reading that the youtube upload on 3rd strike is poor quality but I will check this out to confirm. Thereās also a so called Dipswitch which allows you to change the in-game mechanics and you can unlock it by beating game with everyone or for purchase for $1.
that thing was called system direction in the PS2, and its only interesting if youāre into combos.
Anyway, I wont be able to play 3sOE until thursday night cause I have to work tomorrow.
Who from here is going to be playing it on XBL??
Game is harder then I thought in terms of parrying but getting thereā¦blame it on the rusty years of not playing. I also find the challenges hard as hell for some reason. I tried doing that EVO moment #37 challenge and itās actually harder then it looks. Itās almost lag-free at least here on psn and has some nice tournaments mode etcā¦still need to check out few more things but Iāll check them out tomorrow morning when I get out from work.
The netplay is pretty good(Except it still has rollback glitches like with GGPO, lol).
Iāll be playing on XBL and so will Onion. Not sure about Jive (he has both systems) or Davild Filth but I believe he only has PS3. I hope Iām wrong about that since it would be cool to get David in an xbox live room with us.

Jives not buying it from what he told me unless the guy does another acme stunt -_-
Reports are already coming in from numerous people that the PS3 version of 3S has input lag. I donāt know if people donāt know what they are talking about, talking about the game itself, or talking about online play. Fubarduck has made a report on it that it is offline, and I read something that J.R. Rodriguez also said he noticed a little bit of input lag (no confirmation that I found). In due time I guess we will see. People complain everytime something new pops up. I hope this doesnāt turn out to be legit.
There is thread on it. Input lag on ps3? WTF?
http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2011/aug/23/input-lag-ps3-release-sf3-online-edition-seth-says-no/
A thread for people sayings its the tv (very plausible) About the offline delay!
Gonna download it for xbox when I go home for lunch, itās waiting in my queue at home. Iāll test it out a little bit before I come back to work. Gonna be rocking that old school soundtrack too, the new remixes are meh.

I was playing online awhile ago and i havenāt notice any lag on it, and the other player certainly didnt have any lag either
Got to play for about 10-15 minutes during my lunch. I donāt know if it was just me but I could not get a ranked match to connect at all. I wasted most of that 10-15 minutes sitting at the connect screen. Player match I found someone with a green connection and the game played smooth minus the parry.
I went straight to training mode and tried out different combos with Ken/Yang. I got all the ones I tried out to work. Something feels weird though. Itās weird the combos connect but the moves look slower, could be just me. Did that parry trial to see how the parry was working and I was able to parry ok. Online I canāt parry for shit. I couldnāt parry a simple fireball. Like I said above online plays smooth minus the parrying. I donāt understand how the moves are fluent but I canāt parry.
Again I play on xbox and itās ok i guess so I have no idea on anything going on with PS3.
-DJ-
Mando got it, PS3. Tested it yesterday. Immediately noticed it was off. Started talking to people back home, and other players nationally on AIM, phone, etc. They said the same thing. Talked to my boy Jibbo aka AutoMattockā¦ said he was watching the Fubar stream. Fubar and Mopreme were giving the same impressions of what they believed was input delay. Didnāt really ruin my day, since I didnāt plan on getting it. But I feel bad for those who had their heart set on it.
