GG, BB, and AH have legitimate play outside of point blank.
I don’t consider throwing something like a projectile or otherwise out just so you can get back into close range for a combo legitimate.
It’ll never be the same because the arcade scene is dead in the West.
It won’t get oversaturated because Capcom learned their lesson and stopped SFIV with Super and no one can develop good fighters except Capcom, ARC and Namco (We’ll see with MK9).
Resurgence of the fighting game genre? what? This thread title is wrong, it is Street Fighter that is seeing resurgence and not the fighting game genre. Fighting games have been comming out year after year and it has yet to change to this drastic amount that people are claming is oversaturation unless some of you are like 10 or 9 years old or something.
The only thing I might agree with is the notion of possible oversaturation of the fighting genre. It is possible other companies/developers that have never or no longer delve into the fighting game genre might be tempted to give it a shot with the huge success SF4 is getting.
So no one should be complaining that alot of people are going off topic in this thread discussing the negatives and positives about sf4 when this thread is or at least should be about SF4. Heh, Resurgence of the fighting games my ass, more like desurgence. Heck, The insult the other fighting games have recieved with the second comming of SF would probably stall anytype of resurgence in the fighting games. Even this thread is unintensionally insulting the fighting games that have been released before SF4 whether those fighting games deserve it(MK/DOA) or not(VF/T)
If Capcom didn’t make/publish it or Street Fighter isn’t on the box that means it didn’t happen.

The point isn’t that games haven’t been made, it’s that very few GOOD games have been made in recent years, and all of a sudden we have a ton of games racing our way all with great potential, which could cause oversaturation even among the hardcore.

This is caused by either of these three items; Your lack of understanding/ignorance of the fighting genre; You are a Troll; or I do not possess the comprehension skills required to properly read this post.
Having said that, before me or someone else unlawfully insults you; we have to figure out which one it is by a process of elimination.
Words a lot of times are very subjective, especially when you can not see or hear or don’t personally know the person while she/he is decaring such statement. (i.e. you can infere on where the persons subjective statement lays and debate accordingly)
To help this situation please define what YOU mean with these words/phrases in YOUR post, either defination or examples would work:
-“very few”
-“GOOD games”
-“recent years”
-“all of a sudden”
-“a ton of games”
-“racing our way”
-“great potential”
With you answering this we would be able to ascertain whether my comprehension was at fault or you actually lack the knowledge and are too ignorant to discuss this topic.
