Same here, pretty much the Fighting Edge will be the last mass manufactured stick I’ll have aside from my VLX and Virtua Stick High Grade.
yess VLX+ FG ex is win combo
I still have pics of the one i had and it was pretty dope. (looked like latiff’s) but i was told that its gonna be coming soon i just dont have the green light to give out any info
Well that’s a good sign I guess. At least it hasn’t been canned. I’m still wondering if the price is going to be a shocker. It is Razer after all…
yea they are pretty much asking questions with certains things right now but from the looks of it they are not canning it. I supposed to get one when they are done so when they ship them out i shall post for you guys to see
Excellent. Thank you.
Yooooo…I - am - hanging - OUT…for this thing, man!
What I’m wondering about now is, did any of the Tech Talk regulars get it in the beta?
There was no beta.
It was just Latif trolling us the whole time.
There were people other than Latif who got the stick.
You referring to Latif’s employees?
In seriousness, a list of the people who have one of these sticks would be quite… interesting…
Hell, seeing as some of my suggestions got taken in from the thread from version 1 to version 2 I’d be bummed if i didn’t make it.

I am still super excited for this stick, but I am praying that this stick won’t have any useless bloat. That is, if Razer really is trying to make this stick catered to the tournament crowd, I think they should ignore features such as turbo or a LS/DP/RS switch, or even an on-the-fly button remap feature. Perhaps the casual consumer finds value in these features, but considering that at least turbo is banned in all tournaments, adding these features in would be sort of a waste of effort.
For some applications, LS/DP/RS is actually useful. AE on PC for one doesn’t recognize DP.
Those features are NOT a huge development cost, and are a significant thing for some people; there’s people out there who would scoff and say “No turbo? All these other sticks have turbo, they’re obviously better.” Those people are wrong, but when you’re designing a product, a wrong person’s money is pretty much just as attractive as a right person’s money. I, personally, would very much be against choosing to omit LS/DP/RS selection as a feature, if for no other reason than compatibility – some games poorly support the D-Pad, ignoring it for menus and the like. While turbo selection arguably has a negative impact on the aesthetic of the device, LS/DP/RS is such a small switch that can be locating practically anywhere, I just don’t see it as a worthwhile omission.
Now that’s interesting. It’s one I’ve seen floating around, but I thought it was only for the PS3 TE sticks. Does it affect the 360 TE as well?
These are all fair points. I’m very aware that it doesn’t cost much to develop and I know there are some games where you might want to play with an arcade stick rather than a standard controller, but don’t support D-Pad input. For example, I know a friend that lets his little brother play Castle Crashers with his TE, which I think requires a left analog stick input. I did come off as really negative about those features. I’m just bitter that there hasn’t been a retail stick released since the Virtua Stick High Grade that has taken the minimalist approach for making an arcade stick.
Thinking a little harder, Razer probably won’t release this stick without said features. I can’t think of any products they’ve made off the top of my head that did not have some “extra” thing built in. Most of the time, it seems to be some kind of macro button, which even the Razer Onza had. If Razer puts them in, I’ll probably deal with it. Like I’ve said, I’m still excited for this stick and more than worrying about the tiny stuff, I just want the damn thing released.
If Razer has to add the bells and whistles, I want them to takes Hori’s approach with their more recent sticks, or what Toodles has been doing with his PCBs and add ALL the features they can cram in. If this stick isn’t going to be a minimalist stick, then I want it packed with everything. A LS/DP/RS switch, turbo, button remapping, the L3 and R3 buttons (VERY this), a L1/L2 and L3/R3 switch for those of us who want 6 button layouts, Start and Select function reverse switch, a lock switch, and anything else they can cram in there.
Yes, but that is only because of Capcom’s terrible programming habits. Original street fighter 4 on PC works fine.
Still no excuse for turbo though. And I personally don’t see the point in a lock switch either, but I can appreciate how some people suffer from a combination Elephantiasis + ADHD so they would need it.
My 360 MadCatz Calibur stick would beg to differ. The stick emulation makes play feel very odd, while DP not only works but is snappy and correct.
Yeah… the ‘DP’ setting works as expected for my (modded) 360 SE.
So… what’re we at now, three quarters of a year now or thereabout? The longer they wait to get moving, the more saturated the market’s going to be, and the more they’ll have to really make it worthwhile to justify a premium price tag.
