Our email system went haywire overnight, to which I got calls from people around the world (global company) and our pres (who is overseas at the moment) all calling for help/reasons/pestering…got on a skype call with him at the end of the fiasco and basically cussed out the guy who works under me (he never called, got the message that the server was down and never responded) to which the president was like, “Hire someone; get rid of X”
…He really needs to understand that I am a contractor (contract to hire) and can’t make those decisions…he called me today Thanking me for my efforts…and of course I apologized for cussing up a storm at 0430 in the morning on 2 hours sleep…went into the office and about to call it a day.
Thursday 8-5; 8-12 = 12 hours
Friday 0330-1700 = 12 hours (2 hour lunch with wife and daughter)
i’ve never bought the whole slug in the jaw so his accent changed and he has a twang bullshit.
50 doesn’t speak with a twang unless its on certain tracks.
@Kzoh - I agree with Unreal, an internship is your best option (I did them and it worked wonders for me) so even in your area you should go ahead and look for what internships are available in your area. Sorry to hear that all this stuff is going on in your life my dude. Keep your head up and good luck with everything.
I think all Bis needs is the right guidance,he needs someone to tell him when hes going too far left.I only heard clips of the new Bis and Keith Murray album but bis sounded pretty good.Erick Sermon over looked that album,I always thought Bis should’ve signed with Def Squad instead of Wyclef,he would’ve fit right in
I can intern to learn, but I need money, it’s bad,if social security doesn’t come through, I gotta have money, for me to sustain myself, I get help but it’s not enough.
I like Tech N9ne, and Blackjack was good. Other than that, I don’t care for ‘Horrorcore’ unless it’s Halloween.
Many(but not all) Unpaid internships allow you to get very important experience, as well as good references. When you apply for a position experience makes a decisive difference on your resume and during interviews Experience is the next best thing after “the hook-up”. Usually internships don’t take up much time (2-8) hours a week. Don’t let someone try to play you and talk some hustle about you working 4+ hours a day 3-5 days a week unpaid. If they want you there that often they need to pay you. It’s as simple as that. There’s too much money out there.
When some people talk internship they talk a lot of flashy crap about “highly motivated and energetic individuals willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done” which is in layman’s term is free Gopher. 99% of those jobs will be about you bringing coffee to everyone, and running papers back and forth to people to lazy to get off their own ass and walk down the hall. If you’re gonna be a Gopher, you need to be paid for it.
Sometimes offering volunteer work for free can get you in the door, but again, when you volunteer you want the hours you contribute to be minimal. You don’t want to give people a false sense of entitlement by contributing too much and getting too little back. Depending on the feel of things, you can go from volunteer to paid position. It happens a lot more often than people think. Although if you think you aren’t learning anything, time to move on.
