an… u dont have to be a fan. its cool… during that timeline (being your from the midwest) that region was more so bone, 8ball n mjg, master p, dayton family, suave house, rap a lot, etc.

its cool… state your opinion n feelings. i know i dont like wayne (proud of him) but i don’t like him an regardless of what people may want me to believe or see my taste still wont accept him.

Word White Van Music was ill. Home bumps hard

Oh naw don’t get me wrong. I don’t care about niggas looking at me sideways for saying I don’t like BIG. I’m just saying I feel bad because hes, well, dead. I respect the dead.

How would you go in on Big? What can you say about him?? I mean really?

I wasn’t really going to go in on big, just a snide comment about him sorta like how you said Wayne was my husband.

I still can’t believe its been 13 years…The Basketball team I coach, the kids are 14! I’m going to ask them if they know his Notorious BIG is tonight…LOL

See my thing is…you don’t have to like an artist, there are plenty of established artist that I don’t like or can’t stand, but I still respect what they’ve done and accomplished. I’ve voiced that I think Nas is more average than GOAT, and that Tupac was completely average, but real talk, I still respect those dudes. Hell even with Lil Wayne, I loved old Lil Wayne, and some of “Neo Wayne”, but once he got ‘lazy’, I lost all real interest, I respect his hustle and wish him best, but doesn’t mean I’ve got to like him.

Speaking of Wayne, I recently re-downloaded and listened to a lot of shit that I lost over the past year or so, and for real…

'04-'06 Wayne is hot shit. I forgot how much I liked shit shit between The Prefix (and even a little earlier with some of the Sqad Up shit) and Dedication 2. It’s seriously good shit. Too bad he switched it up from then.

Wayne was possessed on Dedication 2, real rap. I remember the first time I heard that shit, I was riding shotgun with my boy Mike and he threw that shit on. I had the scrunched up face during the entire thing.

In 2006, I used to play CVS2 and listen to that tape non-stop, man. Some of the tracks on that joint really showed how great Wayne had become, that was definitely his peak.

They Still Like Me
Sportscenter
Cannon (Remix)
Spitter <------Straight retarded
Georgia Bush

So many classic songs on that tape.

ten crack commandments-b.i.g

even at the height of west vs east, i still bump bad boy back then. the first verse i memorized from big was 112’s only you. hard to say what’s my fav verse, but this is one my favs.

Nairdas stay sayin dumb shit, not surprised.

Dedication 2 is what snatched me up made me full fledged fan of Wayne. I was feelin him a little bit from the carter II then somebody in the 2005 version of this thread said that the dedication 2 was like the album of the year so I said let me check this shit out. What. The. Fuck. Shit was mad ridiculous. Didn’t even know he could spit like that. I no longer could say dude wasn’t nice.

Sportscenter is like one of his top 5 verses. He killed that shit something terribad.

@Boom: Everybody ain’t gonna be a fan of BIG or any other well liked rapper. You niggas get over that shit and not be surprised by it.

Everybody and everything is overrated on srk i swear. Some of you niggas be on that internet shit too much…

shots fired

But yo, if you just take time to listen to Big’s albums, you can’t deny that his talent was off the charts. Plus, seeing videos of him chillin’ on the block, he seems like he was a real kind and genuine cat. Another person who was taken from us much much too soon. Y’all remember how dope ? What I wouldn’t do for some more Big records, man.

I’m not really a Biggie fan either. I appreciate that he was nice, but he never really did much for me when he was alive or after, and I still don’t get his auto-GOAT status.

I wonder are there any unreleased Big songs?I Don’t know if it’s true but a older friend of mine was telling me there is another version of Life After Death. He said he bought it from a bootlegger in NYC back in 96-early 97 and it had different beats on it.Anyone ever come across bootleg or heard of it before? My guess it was maybe an early version of it,cuz I’ve heard another version of Your Nobody Till Somebody Kills You with a different beat.

agreed

“He what they talkin bout topic of the conversation
product of determination.
stop playin you are not up in my situation
I get money like a caucasian, the car red so the car cajun
Stop hatin, y’all ballers I’ma sports agent
Wait a minute lemme translate it, It’s
Weezy not the father motherfuckin Baby”
"

I’ve never heard of an alternate Life After Death, but there is an alternate Ready To Die. It’s been circulating around the internet for about a year now and it’s very different from the retail version.

I have that on a CD somewhere.Never got around to listening to it tho.I searched around a bit on Youtube and I found the original versions of:

Your Nobody Till Somebody Kills You(Original)-

I Got A Story Tell(Original)-

Long Kiss Good Night(Original)-

I wish there were better sounding versions tho.Long Kiss Good Night isn’t really that much different, just more background vocals in the begining.
