Bose IMO are overpriced and not worth it. Sound systmes in cars aren’t anywhere NEAR what you can build on your own. Home systems cost 2-3 times the cost of something that can out perform it. My dad is big into Bose and the main reason is cause he got them cheap in Germany when he was in the Military and just stayed with them.

So far, I’m looking at Infiniti, Pioneer or Alpine for the Amplifier. I want 4 channels (though I’ll probably get a 5 channel, just in case I get a sub one day).
And military folks don’t get them Bose on discount. At our post exchanges, the prices are higher than elsewhere. Not to say, they won’t offer a good price here and there.
It was back in the day…like the 70’s…LOL. My dad is big on brand loyalty; they replaced his old speakers with new ones when he blew them 30 years later for free.
I’d go with aKenwood amp; i’d also watch stores cause the 2010 models are coming out within the next 2-3 weeks.

Pioneer verse Alpine, more than likely I’d take the Alpine, but it would depend on the $$$ attached, I doubt the performance difference will be great…but my question is what kind of car speakers do you have…might not make as much sense as you think. All a 4 channel amp does is give more power to those speakers, so you can get (without getting tecnical), more accurate sound, at louder volumes, it will not enhance your bass in the slightest unless the drivers (speakers) and source unit do it/can support it. Now if you put in a subwoofer, its a very logical step as…such as my system, there are lows, and then there are lows, but there is little to no inbetween, the best test that I’ve heard to date in an actual song for testing the SQ of your setup is the intro to speakerboxxx, the way the bass rolls up and down will quickly showcase where your system is weak…if the bass doesn’t change the note much…you need to step your frequency game up. If it sounds like the woofer isn’t moving, then you have it turned too loud and the woofer can’t support where its at. shrug
I’m really feelin this e-40…think I like the Day shift better than the Night shift…seems like its more 40 and less others.
