The Rap Thread: News, Reviews, Rants, Opinions Vol 7. Death to Swizz Beats!

I think the Wu have been on a roll the last 5 years when it comes to production:

Bronze Nazareth-The Great Migration(this is OB4CL 2 status imo,beats is crazy)
The Wisemen-Wisemen Approaching
Wu Meets The Indie Culture-Think Differently
Gza/DJ Muggs-Grandmasters
Method Man-4:21
Raekwon-Vatican Mixtape v2
Ghostface Killah-Fishscale
Hell Razah-The Renniasance Child
9th Prince-Prince Of New York
Gza-Pro Tools
Cilvaringz-I(if u liked Cuban Linx 2 your going to love this)
Raekwon-Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2
Masta Killa-Made In Brooklyn(some of it is eh,but he had bangers on there)
Ghostface-More Fish
Ghostface-Big Doe Rehab

I’ve heard snippets of U-God’s,Cappadonna,and Deck’s recent albums and they even sound hot. They still have heat, peep some of the Wu Affilate albums.

You can add Chamber Music to that list. I loved it also

The production on those albums are good but Id guess that the reason for BullDancer’s remark would be that Wu-Tang isnt on the CUTTING EDGE as they were in the 90s. The production style on the first round of solos was pretty much unprecedented and it was new and exciting at the time. They kind of got stuck into that 90s style which is what their fans want but at the same time it prevents any surprises and makes shit boring sometimes. There’s really nothing they can do to rectify this though because if they switched the beats up to whats cutting edge now their fanbase would shit bricks (and all the attempts they made at this have been awful, they have an awful ear for the new sound). I think they could have done better with the massacre but I dont think they’re able to be as revolutionary in the sense of bringing something new and exciting to the table anymore. Ive just been relying on wu to provide the lyricism and adherance to the NY sound that weve pretty much been getting from CL2, Massacre,Chamber Music and hell even Dopium (dont sleep on dopium it was actually pretty good).

Niki reminds me a lot of Shakira crawling in that green hair. I would ravage both those bitches pumping them full of so much semen, so much semen.

I’ve been riding to that A-Mafia mixtape Lord of the Streetz its a certified heater mayneeee. Peep this Don’t sleep on this cat.

So glad a-mafia is out of jail. Dude has always had flow.

Offtopic:
I watched that good hair documentary last night, black women spend a shit ton of money on their hair.

a-mafia is one of cam’s niggas, right?

Yea yo. Me and some friends just watched some more of his shit. Yo…I see why ninjas said that, dude is ill as shit. I think he might have taken an L against Jay Dash, but omg @ some of this other shit. Lines FOR DAYS.

jay dash is the nigga from the VA right? if so, ice murdered that nigga, dude was wack as hell imo. it’s mad funny how the only youtube link that says he won is the one posted by his record label lol

I agree 100%,but hopefully if the Wu feeds off of CL2 and puts that energy into a group album, there next joint may be there best group album since Wu Forever. As far as the WU needs to update there sound,Rza should take a good look at what DJ Quik is doing.Quik still has that G-funk but somehow he mixed it well together with the new sound thats out now.Dig this:

Sugafree-Nobody(Produced by DJ Quik)-

Snoop Dogg-Press Play(Produced By DJ Quik)

his beats still have that surprise element, you don’t know what to expect. And at the same time he still has that sound that people love him for.

Despite the fact we’re out of slavery, they still have control of us. It’s gangsta how that industry is controlled by Asians and whites.

And now that I mention it, Gillette has me by the balls.

i haven’t seen that doc, but looking at some of the shit these lost ass broads do to their hair i’m not surprised shit is expensive.

They made us hate ourselves…

The three most pointed things is when they display what these hair chemicals do to hair, when they show the Hair Lalapalooza and how it’s really controlled by Asian and white companies, and the retarded coonery in the stupid hair contest.

I peeped the Paul Mooney, “It’s the End of the World.” And in a way, some might say he’s angry for no reason, the world has come so far. Tolerance, equality, yadda, yadda…but that ninja is onto something.

Yeah it’s sad, really sad.

But then again, I’m a hypocrite because I listen to these poisonous ninja songs…so who am I to preach…when I go broke buying my kids Jordans and thump my chest…instead of giving out daps for getting As in their classes

Nothing to see here…let’s get back to hip-hop.

Happy Easter

Thing is I grew up and am still pretty poor, my mom has never spent a crap ton of money on her hair. She gets cheap perms and hasn’t been to a salon since 2005(wich was paid for by my aunt),Her past salon days have almost exclusively been paid for by others.Tldr:she does her own hair.I had one pair of jordans in my life, never got the hype;New balance cross trainers 4life.:coffee:

People kill me when they talk about ho much someone spends on something they want. Has it ever crossed you niggas minds that broads say the same thing about us and our VIDEOGAMES??

Everybodys money goes into something…

Whether its clothes, hair, watches, videogames, coke, whatever

I hardly spend shit on videogames, and whatever money I do spend on games isn’t based on some institutionalized insecurity.

I got you beat.

bing.seeohem click videos and put in la gatita or daddyskitty.the rest is history

I don’t even game anymore, but I get what ep is saying.I’m amazed by how much good weaves cost.
