Its no problem judge, I enjoy all of your posts
New teaM @nd AssIsts
Hayoto**-assist-2
Thanos-assist-3
Amingo-assist-**2
Have Fun
:u: nice
running this now…
hayato- anti-air
amingo- balance (the qcf+p assist)
thanos- launcher
lol at this team
big LOL at thanos/amingo:
sticky POWAAA glitch dhc Vine Super for AA counter hit, then amingus gets free invisible hi-lo with thanos assist.
invisible cacti assists also
i might have to master that duo
I want to fashion this team to be a CH into 100% so I am thinking about the order of:
Amingo/Thanos/Hayato
Amingo/Thanos:
-CH vine super to Power Ball to Plasma Wave
I am also thinking about Hayato/Thanos for anywhere GBs with 2bars:
-force the air NJ block xx Plasma Field xx Power Super
But I still like Hayato/Amingo for the corner GB:
blocked hit on in-coming xx PF xx Vine Super xx Power
i’ll hit this back up with some combos and assist uses later
i want to see if hayato can pull a plasma combo in the corner into thanos tag in to bubble -> infinite and will check later today
…so much better if thanos had capture or if amingo had enhance. think of the hayato ground strings backed by the bubble or the beefed up thanos/hayato after power+fruit or plasma wave+fruit =(
correction: the CH 100% is Vine Super xx Space xx Plasma Wave
*plasma combo, tag out thanos, bubble, infinite works anywhere
how to land the plasma combo?
- just do it on someone after they use a bad recovery move or surprise them with the range of b+lp starter
- j.lk, j.mk, land, plasma combo for tag out
i wonder what the effect of the plasma combo is on point+assist? can u hit them both with it, tag out, snapback, assist kill?
well, this is just info. nothing on strats as far as fighting other teams, but do what works and play smart
remember, you’re working with 2 characters that have the natural ability to play left/right:
Amingo: c.lk, s.hk xx qcf+P (lp puts you on the left after they pop up and hp puts you on the right…character-specific but it gives u a 50/50 vine super and it doesn’t matter if they guess right b/c u have a back-up Power dhc)
Thanos: c.lk, c.mp xx qcf+P (both end up on opposite side…but u could whiff s.mk and do hi/lo when they land with c.lk or j.lk+hayato for options)
thanos assist comes out quick enough to serve as a NJ connect for a damage maximizer:
air-to-air scenario…
j.lk, j.hp+thanos, they get launched, u follow up for AC or mix-up as they land
some basic target combos:
with thanos:
c.lk+amingo, c.mk xx bubble (thanos knocks them down, amingo otgs and sends them into bubble)
hk throw + hayato, power super to force block as they land for free tag out to whoever to correct team order or switch up if u choose to
with amingo:
c.lk, s.hk +thanos or hayato xx qcf+hp (whiff) xx vine super does about 1/2 life to 100%
everything else is kind of repetitive
*the main reason amingo/hayato/thanos is not so hot is because if hayato gets his ass caught, amingo can’t exactly save him by anything definite…but a thanos DHC is a lot stronger option if someone snags ur anti-air by chance
team play strats i’ll come back with…
start of match:
playing the match:
stuff to make them block:
- with amingo for cactus drops:
c.lk, s.hk + thanos xx cactus drop, s.hp xx cactus
*i noticed that by this time, the first cactus has reached them, and if they are blocking, the grab one is a free combo…vary it a bit in case there is a hole for an assist call
- amingo for an annoying AC fiend tactic:
c.lk, c.mk, wait, call thanos, df.hk
*u just tried to launch them 3times
Good stuff thanks, I kinda had a feeling this would be a tough team to learn and use.
After catching an airborne opponent with a blocked Vine super at around NJ height (for example, a jump in or a failed GB attempt), if you DHC to Thanos w/ Power Ball, you have the advantage to get in 2 Powers before they can attack. This is because they fall to the ground after blocking the 1st Power and by the time they leave block stun, they have landed. As they are going through their landing animation, Thanos can attack. It’s a scenario with a little option tree to mess with. They do, however, have the ability to get in an assist call…and iirc, the only super that Thanos gains momentary invincibility with is the Soul.
the quirks of playing any team is knowing when you can attack and when you have the 2nd attack. in all honesty, a player that learns to respect this in fighters is very dangerous. then again, as Potter mentioned in his thread, the faster you can move/play/attack, the more skill is required from your opponent to see and capitalize on the opening
if you can’t attack on this team, what can your assists do for you:
thanos…will either get beat out, trade with them for the launch to which you can follow up, or clearly beat them out and launch
amingo…will get snuffed
hayato…will either get beat out (lack of invincibility frames), trade with them for the pop-up and back, or beat them out and take them to the skies
if you can’t attack on this team and is forced to block something fullscreen:
*for example a projectile or a blocked super or a viper beam or rocket punch
thanos…offers the option of variable counter xx soul
amingo…nothing
hayato…nothing really
if you can’t attack on this team and is forced to block something close:
*for example, a tri jump or a sent stomp or a jump-in
thanos…offers the option of VC xx soul or VC xx power
amingo…offers the option of VC xx Vine (quick cancel)
^this is the reason i consider playing this team as a 2nd option of hayato/thanos/amingo which sets up the 100% CH off of a VC scenario given 4bars which you will likely have unless you’re forced to DHC to Thanos and dump
hayato…offers the option of VC or VC xx plasma field
another key when playing different characters…your ability to block will transfer to any character you have, so defensively the only thing that changes is your character stamina and size. if it is obvious to you that you are playing a team that will often force you into the 2nd attack scenario, build meter
w/ amingo:
drop cactus whenever u can…sj over and leave them behind
zone with d+hp, s.hp, s.hk (vs jump-ins)
w/ thanos:
ub j.hp zoning, s.hp zoning xx bubble
sj. d+hk whiffs to make it seem like u r a threat and as if u have a lot of options
fullscreen bubble
don’t forget that thanos can do s.hp, s.hk on the ground…so a safe string to force block for bubble would be s.hp, s.hk+hayato xx lk bubble
jump over + amingo and fish for otg
sj.lp fish to do sj.hp 2-hit
bullshit in the air and play with landing times, but don’t get too careless
i forgot to mention…most people are familiar Storm’s grounded LA xx LS bait that punishes you if you dropped your block thinking she wasn’t going to super…thanos has his own version of
tackle xx power (which is fairly safe)
w/ hayato:
j.hp range
dash up c.hp launch attempt, wait if blocked, qcf+lp punish or dp+lp punish (remember JWong with Cyc vs Yipes)
*if they eat the qcf+lp punish for trying to punish your launch attempt, cancel to plasma wave for damage
and so on and so on as there are more things you can do, but mix it up
Not sure if it’s imposing to ask for help with another team but I was wondering if you could come up with anything for Ruby Heart, Cammy, and Cyclops? I find each character fun to use but I’m not sure if they can actually do anything as a team.
Ruby/Cyc-aa is a solid duo. Check DjB13’S vids for the lockdown patterns these two can do. Also check out the solo Ruby play for footsie details.
Cammy/Cyc-aa is a solid duo. Cyc-aa makes it easier for Cammy to get off an AC xx KBA.
Play around with using either Ruby-antiair or Ruby-capture.
Cyc can do s.hp + Ruby-capture for a simple fullscreen 45 degree cover vs characters with no real fs options.
Feel free to develop some Ruby trap patterns while implementing Cammy-dash. The cannon drill is a horizontal hold tool that could allow you to better fill the gap between Ruby’s normals and her waterfall special.
Work out some combos and DHCs in training mode to see what fits your style. If you can’t get Cammy in on-hit, then Ruby’s treasure box ghost super DHC to KBA is a decent option. Solid team.
Now that marvel 2 is online and there was recent interest in this thread, I thought I would give it a bump = )
- I was hoping we could get some kind of tourny started with this idea, like a week or two before the tournament everyone is assigned a random team and random assist to practice with and that’s the team you have to use in the tourny let me know if anyone is interested idea so we can get the ball rolling.
looking through this thread again I forgot how much great info is in here make sure to check it out if you haven’t already.
