any progress on chicago btw?
I’m playing with my budget to see if its economically feasible to go to Chicago or not (This year)…so when I get an update in regards to that situation and others I will soon let you all know…

I’m actually planning a tournament in Mexico to tell you the truth…I got things broken up into levels…with:
Level 1 starting in America and being Qualifiers for the El Paso tournament (May get a DVD, may not, depends on the level of skill at the event, sucky matches won’t promote or sell itself…

Level 1.5 being the Phoenix tournament Qualifier (It’s getting hot!!! Gets DVD)
Level 2 being the El Paso tournament- Gets DVD
Level 3 starting in Mexico = Gets DVD

Yeah now to elaborate on that…a plan is in the works for the **Level 3 Majors **to happen in Monterrey, Mexico (north) and Guadalajara, Mexico (Central/South). This way those from the north that can’t go down South have a Major in Monterrey and of course then there’s no reason Taekua should not be able to make it…and in addition to this Guadalajara is a nice central location down South where those from Puebla, D.F. and other places like Veracruz could make it…
Now for you Americans that are DIEHARD players this would be your calling…you’d need a passport though…but before you venture into the depths of Mexico I’d recommend seeing how you fare at Phoenix and El Paso…Phoenix and El Paso tournaments are only gonna give you a very small piece of the pie in regards to what the rest of Mexico would offer…(And just how big the sea of competition in KOF is in Mexico)
Also something else I realized…apparently there is a Juarez tournament by Lecter being planned on the same date as the Devastation Phoenix tournament…

This saddens me because I actually wanna attend this first of all…and second of all we will be competing against each other.
Other Phoenix developments that are happening are that it seems like we are going to do a Tijuana vs. LA Team Exhibition in Phoenix in 2002 and get it on the DVD…

yea, but obviously the main focus is SNK games (and Tekken) doesn’t mean we can’t run side games. Its all up to demand really.
For 98UM what are the current tournament rules? Been trying to step my game up but I want to make sure that everything is tourny legal.
No Orochi Leona, Orochi, Goenitz, Orochi Iori, Omega Rugal, or any console character.

Cool, I’ve been playing a lot with EX Geese and want to make sure he is alright. I wasn’t going to touch the Orochi characters. Now Boss Team was in the arcade release right? Not sure since I never saw it or played it.
EX Geese is perfectly legal…he’s on my main tournament team and if someone says he should be banned I wanna hear a good enough reason why…
Boss Team yeah (96) is in the arcade…98UM Boss Team (Orochi, O. Rugal, Goenitz) is not in the arcade release.

The first one he won 2 years ago 5-2 vs. me but as I told him I’m much much more prepared now and wanna put $50 on it!!

interesting. that would make a funny event tho i think if there is a tie breaker, it should be settled on XII or 2K2UM to spice things up. Anyway, whats the status on the hotels and stuff along with the website so we can get some re-regs going.
