sorry, but anybody in their right mind knows that putting a possible huge event in that time frame is dangerously close to evo. especially since evo usually fluctuates its dates year after year within this time period.
theres no conspiracy, im 100% positive this date was selected before this snk date was selected. it just happened to be a shitty coincidence
this is a really, really bad turn of events. i know that this overlap wasn’t done on purpose, but it’s probably too late for either event to reschedule. we’ll just have to make the best of it and do as much as possible to make border wars a success.
i just think its a really bad idea to try and hold some type of major in summer when its already super congested with majors. we already had the devastation and MWC debacle, theres evo and possible subsequent qualifiers that always take place during summer/late spring. you got the Tseries in toronto… Its just a bad idea to squeeze more big events in the summer that was already congested to begin with
Thanks, oh I am dodging the super, and keeping on rolling…I’m staying ontop of this stuff for now…I mean what can you do? I gotta adjust I have to now…but thats okay I can just make sure the Phoenix one is DA SHIT…and it will setup the El Paso one in 2010…
So do not worry everyone, don’t stress it out…everything is gonna work itself out…
Ok, ull have to retalk to devestation or get your own place so we have a more dedicated area, plus take care of XII and whatnot, but if u can pull it off, then Ill be happy to help (along with changing all the avatars again -_- lol)
u could also set up the el paso one for august (the date u thought evo was gonna take place) do the good ol switcheroo and even hold a regional at evo if u want, spitting some ideas for now cause i dun think our major should be partnered with another event
Already weighed the pros and cons of that, that’s not the best idea because we know everyone empties their wallets “there” so bottom line is they are gonna be broke after that particular tournament…
Yep as does the rest of us it seems… Go figure but you roll with the punches or dodge the super… :cybot:
EDIT: For now guys after talking with NeoPenny and Phoenixazure, we are shooting for the El Paso Major being the second week in August.
I still want to stay on board for what I have planned for Phoenix, same bonus pots etc (**$500 **for 1st in 2002 Neo Geo, **$500 **for 1st in 98UM)…but still have EP be the one…and thing is we are catering to a different target audience, and Penny is right about that…a different target audience than “that tournament” is.
EP Major-$1,000 Bonus pot for KOF 2002 Neo Geo first place. Everything else stays the same.
I’m going to try for Phoenix and still support it with everything I can do, however I can only confirm one at 100% right now and that’s gonna be El Paso.
Also everyone due to me throwing my resources full fledged into Phoenix and El Paso (and other reasons but we’ve been down that boat)
The EVO World SNK tournaments have been cancelled.
As I said in that thread, if you wanna play BETTER COMPETITION and have bigger bonus pots,
either go to the Phoenix tournament or the El Paso tournament.
All it is to it. Phoenix is still gonna be Quals for El Paso…you’ll have a different breed of player at each event thats the thing…So both will be fierce in their own ways…
