Does anyone know if Capcom are going to do anything to address rage quitters? I know someone said they were monitoring it, but that means nothing. Are they actually going to do something about this?
I can’t stand rage quitters. As a majority loser online in all Street Fighter entries except vanilla SFIV, I can speak with much authority on the matter of sucking (not like that’s a good thing). I find it more satisfying to take my lumps, show respect to the better player, and hope I learn something new (my biggest issue is a lack of dedication, which is why I don’t take a string of losses personally).
That being said, I have yet to brave SFV online and only have the stories I’ve read to go on regarding that (long story short, I blew my gaming budget until April to get a TE2 - because Canada, it ran me $370 after tax - and I don’t want to waste my time with my existing inferior options). Having a bad attitude and ruining somebody else’s enjoyment over a part of the game should not go unpunished. If Capcom is afraid to make a bunch of scumbags even angrier (while allowing the community at large to do so instead), they could always put in an incentive rather than a penalty. The FM is ridiculously low online, so tossing the winner 100FM and the loser 25FM or 50FM (if they win a round) may limit the frequency at which it’s occurring.
This idea is a little out there, but no more than earning the DLC for free, I guess… Have attendance bonuses. If you don’t voluntarily exit any matches, you built a streak. As you hit new milestones, you’re given small rewards like titles or FM. The only caveat here is how they program it to tell the difference between a legit disconnect or somebody unplugging their router. The only reasonable option, sadly, is to count every early exit as a quit, then randomize rewards so you avoid “200 straight games without quitting to earn ____” - which could be impossible depending on network conditions. Rather, it’s a random draw where your first reward could be the best prize. They’d have to continually add to it because doubles of titles would be annoying, or simply leave it as various FM amounts once you claim the items… Just some thoughts.
Got 2 rage quitters today. A Laura player named Zero9teen and a Nash player CK-VNZ. Both from the asian region and quite high ranked. They’re happy to take the wins, but once you start beating them they’ll pull the plug.
It records the previous 15 minutes so if something happens you tap record once and the past 15 minutes will be saved… You have to double tap to deliberately start recording.
