I don’t know care how good of a player this guy is and that he apologized. He’s a cheater plain and simple, he disconnected when he was about to lose to keep his useless LP. If you want to apologize to someone, apologize to all the people you rage quit against.
In my experience i get about 3 for every 10 people I play disconnects. I think the best way to punish is to make there account unable to play online 1 hour(example). if they disconnect they avoid losing 50 points but can’t play online for 1 hour. If they did not disconnect they lose 50 points but they could make up anything they lost in 1 hour.

Yeah, I understand the basic premise: Capcom should have had a system for pinpointing and penalizing regular disconnects in place at launch. And that’s true, they dropped the ball there. But to stretch that out to “Capcom are directly responsible for any rage-quits that anyone does ever” is just stupid. We’ve all got a choice whether or not to disconnect when we lose, and most of us choose not to disconnect ever. Cause we’re not babies. Manchildren, maybe, but not babies. Don’t act like a baby, and don’t treat people who choose to act like babies as if they are in actual need of babying.
Some people cheat, thats nature, Capcom are to blame as they should have had that sorted before launch Mortal Kombat and Killer instinct have a penalizing system and Capcom implemented it within USF4 as players were rage quitting back then, so they know the situation. I am not going to be a moron and stick up for them, why should I these games ain’t cheap and they then want you to pay more money for add-ons/characters etc they should have got it sorted period!
You don’t have to stick up for Capcom. You shouldn’t, actually. As I said, they dropped the ball on this. But when you just say “it’s Capcom’s fault” and leave it at that, you’re kind of ignoring the guy on the other end who’s taking the ball home while it’s already in his goal. That guy didn’t have to do it, but he did it. He made that choice. Just because Capcom created a situation where that behaviour isn’t punished, that doesn’t excuse the people doing it.
What I’m trying to say is: you don’t have to stick up for either Capcom or rage-quitters, and you shouldn’t stick up for either of them. Just, whatever you do, don’t go out of your way to defend rage-quitters or act like they aren’t in any way responsible. Because it is their fault first and foremost.
