Instead of this stupid ass “solution” of deducting 1000 LP and a 24 hour ban after 3 rage quits, why the fuck don’t they, you know, just give the L to the rage quitter and the W to the person who was quit on, as well as deduct/add the correct amount of points? This would solve the entire problem people have with rage quitting - that they don’t get the points they clearly earned, and the person who quits doesn’t lose the points they clearly lost.

Yes, giving the L to the quitter is by far, the most obvious and elegant solution one could ever think of. I honestly can’t see why they are going out of their way to look for an alternative. That said, I don’t think the person who was quit on should get the W thtough. I’m sure people would think of ways to abuse the system if that was the case.
Why shouldn’t the person who got quit on get the W? Every match has a winner and loser (with the rare exception of a draw match, if that is even a thing in SF5). If the person who quits is the loser, then by default the other person is the winner.
In a tourney (or any local match) if you’re in a match and your opponent pauses the game and selects quit, they should get the L, and you’re telling me that you shouldn’t get the W?

if it would be like you suggest, ragequitter would abuse it by taking the loss but at least denying the points to the other player. I’m with purbeast there. the player who is rq’d on must win the match and the other one must lose. this is the only way to prevent any motivation for early quitting because it makes it pointless.
