So I’m reading in the lounge post that the RQ penalty is not working on PC. No word on PS4.
Hopping on rank to test this for myself.
For those three people I encounter, I wholeheartedly apologize in advance.
But if I do this shameful RQ 3x in less than 2 hours and find it doesn’t work, I’m gonna be so pissed.

RQ penalty IS working on PC (see this screenshot from Steam) AND on PS4 (see this tweet).
For now we have:
- 1 report of a PC user on alt account saying it doesn’t work
- 1 report of a PS4 user on alt account saying it doesn’t work
- 1 report of a PC user (on alt account?) saying it works
- 1 report of a PS4 user on alt account saying it works
- some other reports of people getting punished with no further info
There is no room for any kind of conclusion for now except that the system is indeed enforced on both supports.
I don’t understand, why Capcom simply doesn’t remove the option to quit a game, when playing a ranked match. Problem solved. Sure you could shut down the entire game. And I’m sure that there would be idiots resorting to this option. But I highly doubt, that the majority of the rage quitters would shut down and restart the entire game, because it takes so damn long until it’s been done loading etc.
As soon as the game starts - up to the point where the results are being reported to the servers - the menu does not offer an option to leave the game. If you are in character select screen and even while the game is loading, you can still quit (maybe because of a horrible connection, or because you don’t like the character the opponent uses). But as soon as the match starts, this option is gone. It’s so simple.
I think thats the only way to RQ is to quit the game entirely. Dont know, never done it. B)
Tried it for myself.
Sorry to DarksideOZ, kidjeronimo, and whoever the other two were for wasting your time, but here’s my experience on PS4 within the past 30 mins.
Nothing happened.
How I did it:
Played. Waited till I got KO’d then PS button + close application. Rebooted it back up and went back to the ranked mode. No menu popup or anything like that reddit photo. Points and winstreak still intact.
Did a total of 4 RQ’s 1-2 secs after the KO screen, like the typical RQuitter.
Even did a RQ after I won and KO’d them.
Disappointed.
