I’d be okay with this. I had to quit a match against a Ryu player because it was just completely unplayable. Several lagspikes and teleporting shoryukens does not make for a fun match. Real shame too, since the guy was pretty good (at least, compared to my terrible skills), unplayable lag aside. Some way to end poorly synced matches without the implication of ill-will would be nice.

Actually according to him he plays in tourneys. He just did this to save time.

If you want to waste time doing this be my guest… if he won 85% of his matches, it probably would have been fast to just keep playing, with the all the downtime from disconnects.
Who cares? The only thing that matters is earning Fight Money as that has monetary value. With all the rage quitting he’ll need to do to maintain his rank he won’t earn shit.
Sigh. I hate to say it but you’re right. Ain’t nothing can be done about these guys. All I can do is beat em when I face em.

Actually, to that end, wouldn’t deleveling be ideal so you’re matched up with softer opponents?
Have a look at MDZ_Jimmy’s Ryu, he should be at the top 30ish on the leaderboards. He was extremely solid and difficult to deal with, haven’t played a Ryu that handled him like that thus far. Also check out LaDose_Richiro, his Ryu was one of the most patient I’ve played, most of our matches resulted in the timer getting to single digits.
This is something I was worried about too, the amount of bitch quitting is going to drive people, who would otherwise not RQ, to doing just that.
Hopefully a few days for the patch actually means a few, wouldn’t hold my breath where Capcom’s concerned.
