The Rage Quitting Thread

I think that’s fair. Ranked is about how often you can beat silver players, since gold and plat are hard to come by.

Character selection is big too. Characters that can just flowchart without interacting much with their opponent are extremely good in ranked. Sim is the best example. It’s sort of like winning in Starcraft completely in mechanics.

Silver players are sort of in the mindset of “wait for them to do something then mash” which is going to get destroyed by sim and often beat Nash. It’s unfortunate that we’re still in a situation where being good at ranked and being good at sfv are very different things.

Perfect example of how rage quitting comes back to bite you in the ass. Had AlphaBee actually looked at the ranked matches and studied his losses, he would have been able to improve. You’ve only fooling yourself being in a rank you don’t belong. You can’t get an accurate gauge on your skill level if you’re always cheating.

why is people adding videos of casual games

i consider myself to be middle of the field as far as skills are concerned and i struggle to get to silver…the moment i do usually crack 2000lp, my next fight will be a 3000+ player that takes like 65 points from me (what happend to ppl way above your class only taking like 1 point from you like in sf4?) i got two or three super silver/golds ina row and lost, and then like 2 RQ’s…and now i’m floating around 1800lp again…i’ve made the decision to grind back up to silver and abandon ranked for battle lounges cause its so uneven right now…its super discouraging to come across 2100lp players that arent even good and i’m struggling to even get silver

Yeah, I agree, but the rank is still kinda crappy when you’re trying to level up. Like, I’m pretty confident I can get to Plat (did a few days ago) because I was going even with platinum players in lobby, but Rank is still about luck, because you can just run into a 3000 Mika or or someone decent and “mess up” a round a lose 150 points. It’s great for the player who beat you, well deserved even, but a bit harsh when you are already going back and forth with people of your skill level, beat 10 Silver/Ultra silver players in a row, and most of those points are done away with on one loss.

I get the people pissed at R/Q
I get the people pissed that R/Q

I think the better system is Virtua Fighter where it works similar to Street Fighter in the beginning 1Kyu-10 Kyu, then 1st Dan - 10th Dan. After that though, you get “titles” as your rank like Hunter, Warrior, champion, etc…You can only rank up, when you beat people in the same class as you. You can only rank down, but losing to people in the same class, or right before you. It tells you when you are about to rank up and rank down, and those are really your only “stressful” matches, the rest is kinda like playing in versus mode, since all the points adding is going on behind the scene. IMO, that’s the best of both worlds. Capcom has a similar setup with how it does it’s ranking, so I wish they actually counted points like that.

Yeah, definitely man, it will come back to you. I learn far more in the lobby than Ranked. And I will admit here, that when I first hit gold in the beginning, I quit matches before they began with gold players lol, and waiting until I was paired up with silver or something. I mean, at the end of the day, it’s just points, but with this system, it pretty much feels like gambling, can get addicted if you don’t put it into perspective. After I got gold, I played like crap after that because I was so focused on losing my points. When I stopped worrying, I play much much better.

As I posted above, I got a mini anxiety attack because I was finally about to hit Platinum, started the day at 7060, and then loss 500 points in like 20 minutes! It was crazy demoralizing! And I played worse and worse and worse. Then, I just snapped, went crazy rush-down, and got all my points back and then some in an hour. Went on a 21 win streak. I was even prepared to rage quit if I loss because I was pissed 3 players did it to me when I was struggling to get my points back. Then a few times I just got d/c even though I thought it was R/Q I was the one logged out of the server. But that’s when it happened I guess. I didn’t play with “stress” I didn’t care about losing, winning, I was just focused on killing my opponent. I wasn’t satisfied with the win until I dominated the player completely. I rematched everyone, I did maximum punish every opportunity, and mentally disciplined myself if I didn’t, and in general I was playing Street Fighter. Went from 6400-7480 before my streak ended. And When I finally hit Plat, I vowed to quit rank.

It’s just not worth it. You learn the game with match-ups, through sets, and through studying what each character is strong at and weak against, and being able to put that knowledge into practice. I hope Capcom addresses the issue though, because some people exclusively play ranked, and there titles are not a reflection of their skill level. But at the same time, whatever keeps people entertained is their prerogative. Capcom just needs to do everything they can to grow the user base, and keep people coming in to learn this game. At it’s core, as many has said, I believe they made something pretty special here, and it’s being tarnished by all the issues surrounding the game. So I’ll only be in Casual and lobbies for the time being, taking a break from rank, but watch out for me when I get back! I’ll be much improved!

Also, out of my 400 or so matches, I did quit against people lagging on me or got d/c from server maybe 4-5 times. I would have taken the points if If I won so that’s not fair. Sorry to anyone who should have gotten points from me but didn’t regardless of reason. arigatou gozaimasu Srk for letting me rant!

Still getting them. Is there any way to still report them or do we just need to let it go and hope the algorithm will get them?

I don’t think Capcom really is going to care about reports, and I don’t see how this is rocket science. You lose connection, deliberately or not, you take a loss. Simples.

Your shitty Ryu and predictable uppercuts weren’t meant for a world as flawed as this one. You have left us too soon (specifically before my win against you registered) and the world is a darker (and LP deprived) place for it. You’re too beautiful to wake up with critical art when you’re on a pixel of life, though the speed at which you disconnected when the retaliatory strike killed you was about the only impressive thing about your play.

How’d u like them apples ShowStopper?
