Both of her standing dashes are worthless, and the backdash is a death sentence. thus the rule, Morrigan has no ground dashes.

her standing dashes have some, albeit little, use, and all of her dashes are just as unsafe if she didn’t fly first.

I just never bother to dash, (let alone NEVER ground dash under any circumstance), unless I’m flying to avoid any possible blow up. The only other time I’ll air-dash outside of flight is with Disruptor while also/or sj.UAD into either shell kick, or j.L.

i’ll use a ground dash when my opponent is within range and air fireball>fly>dash>shell kick>combo isn’t working. after the opponent has been conditioned, so to speak. it’s kind of like naked teleporting: it’s not as clever a trick as it may seem, but you can tell when your opponent won’t punish you.

there’s this guy on youtube who does morrigan’s “tri-dash” when he uses disruptor assist. it’s just jump, down dash, shell kick. you want the shell kick to whiff so it will get her across the screen fast, and it’s like a fake overhead because so many people already know to block 3 shell kick hits. i’ve been doing that during dr. strange’s bolts of balthakk assist, and i’ve been catching so many people because i started a combo with a low, from full screen, with morrigan! lol it’s definitely better than call assist>air dash>blocked shell kick>advancing guard -_-

Air back dash can be canceled into an attack almost twice as fast as standing back dash. That’s a huge difference.

Also, flight mode messes with the her dash arcs, and restricts her to a higher minimum air dash height, so it greatly worsens her tri-jump.

Your talking about Darchon, right? Yea he’s a good example of using disruptor alongside morrigan for not just rushdown, but keep-away as well. The tri-dash like effect with a whiff’d shell kick is really awesome indeed(and quite fast achieving what looks to be like a tri-dash). This is why I like swapping between it and j.L once I’m in range for either to land since, just like you said, getting advancing guard after shell kick is a pain. Not to mention her tri-dash combined with j.L is almost like catching someone with Mag’s tri-dash j.L(only difference is that it’s a double overhead into an almost immediate low with st.L making it, IMO, retarded strong).

Disruptor for morrigan is really awesome to be honest. Case in point why I run Mags/Morri/Doom. It covers lots of things for her, and the conversion off of it isn’t hard either.

Explain why ChrisG does fullscreen airdash S and it hits ppl -_-

People give ChrisG or Shell Kick way too much respect. Not enough people try to space it properly and hit it, especially if they’ve got a character like Taskmaster or Zero who have the tools to shut it down completely.

I’d also like to see some vids of Jeo to see how he plink dashes across the screen in the heat of battle.

I think people still dont know Shell kick has recovery on the ground. Its kinda like ‘Trip Guard’ in street fighter games where you can punish someone in landing frames from a jumping attack with a low move. You can use any attack to punish the recovery of shell kick though.

It irritates me when I see him anyone do that, especially him. Makes me just wait for the next match.

Nor does certain ppl know you can special cancel the landing lag. Trip guard is in this game though.

Yeah I gotta start doing that more. Cancelling whiffed shellkicks into flight cancelled shadow blades then addf.

Are you meant to be using shadow blades when j.S hits air to air at regular jump height? I find the shadow blade crosses up to much and doesnt give you enough time to adjust to the side your on to flight cancel the shadow blade the right way. Going from an srk motion to a qcb motion in a split second is pretty unreliable for me. Better to just use st.L, st.M, F+H at regular jump height. Its definitely better to cancel into shadow blade if you hit a grounded opponent with j.S though.

I think it’s better use a shadowblade combo when you connect air s on an airborne opponent.

matchup knowledge. There aren’t that many morrigan players so a lot of people are actually clueless as to what is safe
ot safe. They’re far more worried about the FB spam rather than playing properly. Its the strider\doom effect from mvc2.

chris G should not be using that move so often. The hit box on it isn’t even that great and in my area, I get wrecked pretty hard for trying that strategy.

EVO was just sloppy again this year. Mother fuckers tagging raw all day in grand finals. Funny part about this is that Filipino Champ was calling Dios all kinds of names after curleh mustace WC edition. Calling him an idiot for raw tagging in the finals and guess what filipino champ does in loser and grand finals @ EVO? tags in raw. Just like a pelican would.

Shadow Blade is going to cause more scaling than any single hit normal. Damage scaling is by hit counter, not by what attack you use. 3 hits of Shadow Blade M will cause the exact amount of scaling as a c.M, c.H, f+H.

Lol I know. I was wondering why Chris g does/doesn’t do a few things with morrigan, and I think the simple answer is he has hidden missiles. Like most morridooms, victor dies and you’re left with a morrigan that can’t do that stuff anymore but does because he doesn’t know what else to do.

I was talkin about Shadow Blade L flight cancel into soulfist etc onward. Better damage overall.
