Dark Morrigan lite would be the most broken thing in the game.
When Morrigan dies with 5 bars of meter she merges with Lilith to acquire her full powers and gains the ability to shoot an infinite number of fireballs on screen at once that home on the opponent, forever being referred to as “bullet hell mode”.
Each fireball has 90 high durability points, can not be blocked, and Morrigan is invincible while there are fireballs on screen.
Every time a fireball hits the opponent Morrigan builds 3 bars of meter, and hypers only cost 1/4 a bar of meter. Also, hitting an opponent with a hyper builds 5 bars of meter instantly and you can DHC into Dark Morrigan from Dark Morrigan infinitely.
Astral Vision in “Dark Morrigan” mode summons 10 Morrigans on screen at once and all of their attacks have hyper armor.
Every time a Dark Morrigan clone hits the opponent, the opponent loses 1 bar from their meter gauge. Once the opponent reaches zero meter, they no longer have the ability to gain meter for the rest of the match.
that sounds like the best opening hand in yugioh ever. lol
Also, since I also main Joe, ive seen a lot of Flashs stuff. his joe is fun to watch and i picked up a lot from it. His morrigan doesnt see the light of day much since she is his anchor, but when she is out there, it really does look like some kind of bullet hell game. I think one time i saw a match and he had like 6 soul fists on screen at once.
Hes very projectile focused, and he has the smoothest fly unfly fireballs ive seen out of anybody.
He has a fair amount of stuff up on Justin.tv if you know where to look. but a lot of it is old at this point, but if you search for xanadu flash metroid, that tourney was i think last week.
Damn you, now I can’t help but read what I said like it’s Magic the Gathering.
You win this round.
How old is the Justin.tv stuff? The last footage I remember seeing of Flash was from Option-Select and the latest one was from early March.
I’m assuming he’s put in more time with her since those videos, but from what I’ve seen his Morrigan tends to have a pretty rough time by herself. I’d love to see some new stuff from him and see how his game as improved over the last month.
Those matches were entertaining. Finally, a decent Morrigan. Judging from what I saw, her astral vision might be enough to lock down some characters by itself, with X factor as a bonus.
Here’s another comeback vid from Flash:
No, I agree with you.
These are the matches I was referring to when I said I thought his Morrigan was kinda rough. I realize that almost all of the footage available of him is within a couple weeks since the game was released, so I want to see how his game has improved since then.
Unless he’s dropped her like every one else has, in which case boo-urns
I think I remember hearing that Flash dropped Morrigan but can’t remember now. Yeah…you can’t really make a big deal about footage that came out a week after the game was released. This game is going to be played a lot differently a year from now…let alone a month from now.
Yeah, this game is going to look completely different by the end of its life. It’s going to be awesome to see where everything ends up.
That sucks if he really did drop her, I really want to see her in high level tournament play but no one seems to want to hold on to her for very long.
It reminds me of the episode of The Simpsons where Homer joins the Stonecutters and reminisces about how he wasn’t allowed to join “The No Homers Club” as a kid, except in this case all tournaments are a subsidiary of “The No Morrigans Club”.
Thankfully it’s plural, so we’re allowed to have one!
Flash pretty much dropped Morrigan, he played her for the first two weeks but hasn’t been seen playing her since. I asked him myself and he said he doesn’t really like her that much anymore. I hope someone gets some good Morrigan footage up soon.
If anyone would like to run matches with me I would be more than happy to. Only problem is that I dont have a CC. I mean I COULD just record the matches via webcam, but I dont know what the quality would be like. I would love to get some footage of myself up. Id like to hear what yall have to say.
Also regarding Flash, yeah, hes completely dropped Morrigan. Hasnt been using her for a while now. As of now hes running Jill / Iron Man / Viewtiful Joe. He didnt have a spectacular Morrigan anyway. He was much more focused on She Hulk, and to a lesser extent, Tron. Once he picked up Joe, he put all his focus into him, and now hes focusing a lot on Jill.
anyways, feel free to send me a friend request. My main team (as of now…its always subject to change) is Iron Man / Storm / Morrigan. Shes my strongest character by far, which is why I anchor her. Best for last <3
Interesting that Flash picked up Jill. She’s another character I really like that I haven’t seen much of anything from, so I’m looking forward to seeing that. It’s unfortunate that he dropped her though.
Was your Morrigan/Trish/Dormammu team not working out anymore K1?
^^ No, it was actually working out just fine. I just feel scrubby using Dormammu, even though I dont play scrubby with him. Hes just a ridiculous character. Chaotic Flame is just too good. I feel like its the new AHVB. Chaotic Flame and Akuma’s beam hyper. Ive also since decided to run Morrigan strictly as my anchor. I feel likes shes a pretty good closer.
I tried running this as my first team, and it was quite good up to a point. I ended up getting crushed a lot online by Hulk, and figured that X-23 was my weakness in the team. Now I play Hulk/Spencer in that spot. The other problem I found with that team was that the average health wasn’t enough to counter Wesker/Hulk (in particular. Not saying you’ll have the same issues, this is just what I found). Morrigan and Iron Man work quite well together for me.
I think I may have found an interesting corner only, way to start an aerial exchange. However, it only seems to work best with an upward aerial exchange. Downward and sideways exchanges may whiff.
In the corner start with whatever ground hits into her launcher, then m, m, h, m.shadow blade cancel into her finishing shower(missile super), right after the missile super try up S to start the upward aerial exchange. It should hit just the at the tip of her foot. If the opponent tries to counter it the exchange won’t happen, but morrigan won’t get hit and she will be free to act after landing and the opponent will still be recovering.
If the opponent doesn’t counter then your other character will switch in and you can continue from there. It seems like a win win situation, but its very situational. I haven’t really tested it with other combos, just the very basic set up above.
I actually stumbled upon this myself. I can usually always hit them with down exchange so long as they are above me after finishing shower and I do it immediately. I use it to go into MODOK’s 9 cube combo since there is virtually no down side to doing this with Morrigan.
