Well if the basis of your argument is the move was useless in other games we dont have much to argue about. It could be good the same way finishing shower was useless in the other games. Make it possible to control the angle and which side she comes in from and it could be an ugly overhead with assists.
It was hella good in mugen!
The problem is that you could control the angle and side she comes in from, and it was still garbage. Also, you can’t call in assists during a super. Even if you called in an assist before activating the super, I doubt the assist would last long enough for it to be effective. Even if it did, you could just block from whatever direction Morrigan came from.
That move was hella slow and I can’t ever see them speeding it up. Better to just not include it, if you ask me.
They’d have to almost completely change it to be any good, it’s not like Finishing Shower where it sucks because it’s so slow, it’s fundamentally flawed. As long as she obviously dashes to the side she’s going to come in on, you’re never going to be able to trick someone with it and the best you’re going to do is get some chip in, and in a game with super jumps even that’s unlikely/more trouble than it’s worth (unless it’s some huge ass chip). Overheading with assists is a possibility, but I would think it would have to be WAY faster than it ever has been to hit near the same time as, say, X-23’s low assist.
Also, you used “hella” and mugen in the same sentence. Your argument is invalid.
Contrary to popular belief people still say hella, it was just stolen from the westcoast in the early 2000s and the rest of the us made it a catchphrase.
Anywhoo…they could change the move, like have her mirror image it on both sides while you picked what side you want her to come in on. Whatev.
Floating bomb DHC Valkyrie Turn would be amazing.
Seriously if Chris’s level three can be combo’d, Valkyrie Turn is no problem.
It could be DHCed into in TvC with certain setups, but the reward just wasn’t worth it when you could just save the meter for Darkness Illusion(Which always did more damage, was barely affected by damage scaling, and could be comboed from pretty much anything).
Right but now that DI is a lvl 3 it could actually be worth it.
DI was a level 3 in TvC also. It’s best to just save the meter for it.
I’m not seriously arguing for valkyrie turn, but there are a number more of situations that you could easily dhc into turn for that most of her other hypers wouldn’t work (thinking of moves like Magnetic Shockwave and mighty shockwave)
This would all depend on the speed of Valkyrie turn, which historically, has always been abysmal.
It would also depend on the hitstun of the hyper that was DHC’d from.
Personally, I’m glad it’s not in because all of her hypers are actually very useful in this game.
Pretty sure that Dizzy meant that since DI is lv3 and Turn is lv1, Turn would be worth it if you could reliably land it since it uses less meter.
Blah. DI isnt all that to me.
The mind-fuckery that Astral Vision creates is just too fuckin god tier.
A little early to be making that assumption.
DI was ace in TvC. Minimal damage scaling, combos from anything, couldn’t be stuffed by a Mega Crash, etc.
Astral Vision looks like fun, but I’m waiting to see if it can be comboed into easily. Otherwise it’s just a gimmick that most competent players should be able to block.
Oh, okay, that makes sense.
@ Yah: DI is one of the most useful level 3’s so far. I don’t know about you, but I was landing that shit all night when I played. Plus with no mega crash in this game, if Morrigan touches you when she has 3 bars(which is not hard to acquire at all) you’re going to get fucking hurt.
edit: Ninja’d >__<
Plus just having it as a totally safe DHC would be great.
One of the best things about DI in TvC was that it went through Mega Crash. If you could anticipate or bait a burst from your opponent, he’d end up wasting 2 meters and still get hit by it. Might have even reset the combo for more damage, too.
Just one of the reasons I always considered her to be underestimated in that game.
