Have you guys been doing those X-factor combos???
I really havent heard too much feedback
Well clearly it was an accidental re post I was on my phone and trying to watch mvc3 matches for christs sakes. lol.
Didnt see a lot of X-factor combos, and I woulnt honestly expect to see any because for 99% of the community this game is virtually unplayed. We all just jumped into the game.
As boring as it is to watch that same Dante combo on film, its completely different to execute it in person.
With that said, I like Morrigan…a lot. Had her in mind, now im considering her as a dual main alongside Amaterasu. She’s still very much a pixie and a beefed version at that. I was spamming Amatarasu’s cold star assist with dash-in drill/throw mixup. I’ll say that most people didnt know what to do so the wins came easy when they tried to run away from her. Really nasty stuff. And thats before the mirror image shenanigans.
Her anti air assist seemed to be quite fast with a little invincibility on startup. Dont quote me on that, all I know is my Trish and Dormmy assists got stuffed quite a bit and Morrigans got me out of hairy situations like a panic button quite a few times. Once I even baited a jump and punished with Morrigans SRK, its really fast on startup.
That weird arc on her airdash made drill spamming at weird angles a good tactic. Again, throw in mirror image and things become just that much more confusing. I love how drill is safe and multiple hits so after a blocked drill you can go directly into pressure game.
I’d say shes a really solid character thus far. Not that TvC crap.
Funny story…videos on my friends camera, camera got stolen at the movie theater just a few ago. I have like one video out of the 6 or 7 we recorded.
for the record, she plays the same in TvC minus j.E
Well that’s even more of a reason to believe what I said since i don’t know anything about tvc never played it before.
Although I will say she feels real quick. Why were there no morrigan player in tvc since she’s so solid I’m this?
People played her, but she had flaws. Her hypers were pretty bleh outside of Darkness Illusion, so doing damage with her was a massive chore.
From what I’ve seen, other then comboable hypers and flight mode, her only major difference from TvC is that her normals seem faster now.
Long time lurker, first time poster here. Been playing Morrigan since the DS days, and boy is she very powerful in this game. Her j.E is a very good tool; seems to have high priority in air to air situations, puts people in block and hit stun for a really good amount of time to keep pressure on, and is quite fast, especially with her IAD. This was my go to tool for starting her BnBs.
I had fun using her Soul Fist for zoning people out, and it was a pretty effective tool for keeping out characters without a decent projectile. I believe the A version of ground and air go slower, the B versions go faster, and the C version on the ground is the anti-air SF, and in the air it goes straight across horizontally. Zoning with Morrigan works well with Trish’s traps and Dormmamu’s black hole aiding you, if you actually want to zone with Morrigan on point.
Her supers are hella better than they were in TvC of course. Shadow Servant is good if you want an easy OTG combo, and I found Finishing Shower to be a little trickier to combo into, but the trick is to end your combo with j.C and make sure your opponents lower body is around your torso area or head. It seems to combo easier in the corner though. Darkness Illusion seems to be the similar to its TvC counterpart, combos out of everything it seems
Her Dark Force super is reeeaaallly great, and is very lethal combined when you KFC. The mixup opprotunities, resets, and crossup shenanigans can take opponents out very quick as your combos do so much damage in this mode. I found it especially great against characters with large hitboxes like Hulk and Dormmamu, as there isn’t much they can do about it since they get crossed up really badly when you’re in this super.
Overall, she seems to be one of the best characters in the game so far IMO. Her normals and dashes are faster and better than they were in TvC and she works really well with Skrull, Trish, Dormmamu, and Ammy for rushing down, zoning, and corner lockdowns. Her vector drain still has really good range and her best assist is Shadow Blade, as stated for the reasons earlier in the thread. I went 25-0 last night and used her in all of my teams, and even OCVed many people with her. I trust her on point than any other character in the game. Only things I forgot to try were X-factor combos and her flight mode. I guess I’ll start to post more here since I actually got to play the game. >__>
Also, for anyone else who’s played her, can she do that dash cancel for instant overheads like she could in TvC? I tried to do it, but couldn’t seem to execute it…
I couldnt figure out if I was doing a variation of forward dash or if I was just iAD but is the drill an overhead? I’m having memory blanks. I do know she can dash pretty low to the ground.
I’m also co-signing her dark force shenanigans.
Yeah, you mean j.E drill right? It hits overhead. I noticed a lot of people trying to crouch block it when I IAD low to the ground, but then again some people tried to press buttons when I did it and got smacked.
uuhhh, Darkness Illusion, air dash where you can control the arc?
Why is the thread title changed? I don’t know what it means!
D3v likes making custom sticks, and it’s a reference to a brand of actual ‘stick’.
Think of it like ‘is that a gun in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?’
If you are talking about her Instant overhead infinite. the way her dash works and how little hitstun this game has prevents that.
Me playing Morrigan/Amaterasu from last night. This is probably the first 20 minutes of me playing MvC3 for the first time.

Shadow Blade was one of only 6 crossover counters in TvC that were completely invincible during start-up and the entire duration of the hit, making it one of the safest tag-ins in that game. Most of the other 5 were similar Shoryuken-type moves. Somebody should try to check invincibility properties for these in MvC3, on both normal assist and crossover (if applicable).
Nice to hear that Shell Kick seems to be actually useful here, too.
Yeah, that’s what I was referring to. Thanks for clearing that up.
Late to the thread, sorry if that has already been posted.
Morrigan’s theme in MVC3

Old. All you really need to do to hear the themes is go to the official Japanese site.
