Where do you keep getting this people thought throws were OP in SF4 garbage from? Most of us thought they were really weak when SF4 came out. They are even more of a step back in SFxT.
I played 10 online matches to test out the netcode. Small sample size, but of those 10, 7 people were using DLC gems that weren’t part of the default options. And only 1 person was rolling without gems and playing honest.
And dude, if people can pay earth dollars to gain a noticeable advantage with their character, which cannot be unlocked by playing the game and requires you to pay money other than the game itself, then it’s a pay to win. Did you not watch Arturo exploiting the shit out of the auto block gem?
It’s clearly not my cup of tea, but you go on with those rocking Thanos / Homer gifs and play this game until it’s dead. More power to you.
What is this “noticeable advantage” you speak of? Just because DLC gems, on the surface are better, it doesn’t mean that the better player can’t win. As I’ve played this game since release, and I’ve encountered EVERYTHING you could think of, in regards to gems. And guess what, the better player won regardless of his gems. As for auto block…here’s a list of characters who solve that entire problem:
King
Zangief
Abel
Marduk
Remember people, it’s a TEAM game. Not Ryu or whoever doing it by themselves.
PS, this game isn’t garbage. And it does possess a great amount of depth. If only people would look deeper…
Wesker 4 Life.
Why is this still open, by the way?
This guy probably uses assist auto block gems of the sort, so that’s why he clearly doesn’t see the noticeable advantage in gems.
I played against an A rank dude online, and we sparred in Endless probably 6 games. He won most of them due to auto block, when I had mixups of high and low block strings, his auto gem would save him multiple times when we were at low HP and tied, and since his auto block allows him to block, my move instantly turns into a whiff, and he can punish Lili’s weak ass HP with a silly Shoto/Kazuya combo and I’m dead.
It’s really not fair.
I understand MvC1 & MvC2 had Easy Mode for supers, but seriously, rob a good player of his good skill and give the weak people an advantage by ultra handicapping the weak players? I mean little do you weak auto blockers know, you are only hurting and shamefully weakening yourself as a fighter. But who cares right? Whoever wins right?
Don’t give me the “the better player will win.” Yes that’s true, but that means the better player has to go through more pain and struggle that is NOT necessary at all, in order to simply win.
And how are the DLC gems “on the surface” better? They’re better in every f’ing facet.
Pain and struggle isn’t necessary to win? That’s news to me. I thought the greatest victories involved pain and struggling.
And I use assist gems…you have to be joking. I play the game without GEMS. Furthermore, why run a set against a dude who uses assist gems? Stop wasting your time. You have to be determined to see through BS in this game. Imagine if everybody gave up on the SF4 series as vortex characters were so dominant, every game has a deal of stupid attached to it.
People are seriously defending the fact that you can pay to get a better advantage against another player.
My mind gets blown every day.
Forget what I originally wrote, if you believe gems are that significant then I don’t know what to say…
I am utterly shocked as well.
You’re right. Mix it up and do a different strategy and work your way around the auto block gems. Great idea, I actually didn’t think of that. That still does not change the fact that it is unnecessary though.
All great victories involve pain and struggle. However, there is a fine line between worthy or enduring to achieve greatness, and unnecessary effort required to achieve greatness. It’s embarrassing that you are even defending it. Yes some players who suck need assist auto block gems, but those guys die out quickly and easily.
KO !
