The Power of Gaia! The Storm Combo Thread!

It’s all about where you want to take the character and how you want to play her. Unfortunately fly combos I’d something you’ll have to stick too if you want to get they meter

I blame it on Airborne… shrug

i guess meter is more important with storm then getting a extra 100k on a combo . ill stick with fly combos

I find storm to be better if you do team combos with her to build a full bar but not everyone agrees on this

I blame it on Airborne… shrug

I think there’s very little reason to be doing fly combos with Storm. Combo priority for me goes like this…
1.Lightning attack combos
2. jump cancel combo made popular in Vanilla
3. Fly combos

JC combos build more meter with Storm and do similar amounts of damage and generally start from the same openings anyway, so unless you’re afraid an opponent might fall out of a jc combo due to hitstun, there’s no real reason to be doing a fly combo over a jc one.

My Storm bnb is this

j.s -->cr.m–>cr.h–> df LA->cr.m–>cr.h–>df LA–>s.m–>s->m–>h–> l. Lightning sphere–>s–> hailstorm.

Does 655K and builds roughly 70/80% bar, same as your average jump cancel combo, but does about 100K more damage than one. Fly combos tend to do about 560-580 and build about 50% bar

Depending on what kind of state you are in the match, you can switch up which combos to use. Sometimes you have to choose whether you want the damage to get the kill, or the meter for better insurance.

thank you . that combo seems very easy ( although i havent tried it yet so i cant say so) and im ok with 70% meter since magneto builds alot of meter for storm already

Does Storm have any TAC combos that work consistently midscreen? I’ve been trying to do this one but it only wants to work in the corner. Thanks in advance

TAC:
:m::h:xx:dp::l:,:l:ADUF:l::m::h:xx:qcb::s:,:l::h:(ADF:h:)x4,:s:land->Hailstorm

In the corner she can get that extra :l: lightning sphere before the aduf but midscreen you can do

Side/Down
j:h: xx :l: lightning sphere j:h: adf j:h: xx fly f:l: f:h: [adf f:h:]x4 f:s: land double typhoon* xx hailstorm

Up
j:l: j:h: xx :l: lightning sphere j:h: adf j:h: xx fly f:l: f:h: [adf f:h:]x4 f:s: land xx hailstorm

The double typhoon can be omitted

Now that I have finally found a true queen to go with Arthur (Arthur/Storm/Dante), I’m afraid I need some help with Storm combos. Most notably, what are her most efficient ways of dealing damage (Jump Loops or Flight Loops?) and what is her TAC infinite? I really want that TAC infinite meter to run the Storm/Dante THC into Hail Storm finisher. Stylish as hell.

Storm relaunch I was messing around with. Not as much damage, just an idea…

Yay so I came up with a corner combo for Storm that uses Akuma’s Tatsu assist that has 1 whole meter gain. Shit was hard to come up with lol There is a slight variation though if you start with an overhead. Unfortunately I have no way to video capture this so I’ll try to transcribe it though I suck at it. It’s not that difficult either. I managed to come up with this on my Vita so I’m sure that its doable on console.

cr.L, cr.M, Call Tatsu Assist, cr. H, Jump Cancel, j.H, j.S, Airdash Forward, j.S, st.M, cr.H, Jump Cancel, j.H, j.S, Airdash Forward, j.H, st.M, st.H, S, j.M, j.H, j.S, Super

If you start with an overhead you have to remove the st.H before the launcher otherwise they will roll out of the last j.H.

Downside of this is that your assist has to connect in order to get the whole meter gain. Plus side is that your assist call is safe (to my knowledge) and you’ll be able to hit confirm off the cr.L and cr.M to know if tatsu assist will be blocked so you can go for a high/low mixup to open them up while they’re blocking tatsu. You just won’t get the full meter gain. Finally, I did this on the Vita and using it on Nova. Haven’t tested it on console version (I heard there are rare differences) yet and I don’t know if it works on all body types.

Edit: I just checked and I was able to do this combo outside of the corner but… you can’t get the full meter because after the launcher you can only connect j.H and j.S… can’t get that first j.M in for the full meter. If anyone would like to help me with this it would be great. This combo is literally one hit away from being a full meter outside of the corner. And maybe this can hopefully spark some ideas for other assists to be used too!

How much meter gain with that combo?

Hmmm I could use that depending on if that’s the max hit stun that you’ve shown

I blame it on Airborne… shrug

Was that referring to my combo or the relaunch combo Duke posted?

Oh I meant the relaunch concept. For yours you could do a combo into an assist that hits when you launch then tiger knee fly into her fly loops. You’ll get a meter and a little more

I blame it on Airborne… shrug

I just like that the combo I have can either be confirmed into a full combo or if it’s blocked you get a mixup. If I stored the assist call for later so I could do a flight loop then I don’t get that mixup on block. Unless someone has really good reactions and can hit confirm off a cr.L, cr.M. I personally need a bit more time.

It’s basically Justin Wong’s combo but optimized I suppose.

i think it is almost maxed. I started with the LM to show hit confirm and hit stun (sorta). The last launch to S into Hail is mad tight too.

Sup guys, Storm isn’t my main but here is a TAC infinite I found using fly unfly loop, aka sentinel style.

Whats the notations for that?

Non corner is jump straight up, j.l, j.h, adf, j.h, fly, j.l, j.h, addf, j.h, unflying h.
Corner is j.l, j.h, adf, j.h, fly, j.l, j.h, [adf, j.h]x2, add, j.h, unflying h.
Hope this makes sense, its been forever since i posted capcom combo notations.
The trick is the unfly part by pressing S and H at the same time when you are very low to the ground in the fly state.

nice find. How about up and down exchange?

The video above is the down TAC.

After I got comfortable with the infinite, I recorded more with setups.

The setups are in the description.

Overall the setups and combos I feel are a bit easier than Doom’s infinite, and the combos are somewhat flexible to adjust the height of your opponent.
