The Power of Chi! Official Iron Fist thread!

I think there’s a very big combination of stuff that can keep Iron Fist out. He needs defense chi up pretty often. His health pool does NOT seem to be very big. But if he can score the hit, he can definitely dish out a good 700k or so on one meter. I think corner combos are crucial.

He has almost 1mil health.

Hey guys just going to post this here for right now cause they combo thread is locked. Let me know what you think. I have my viper and spencer to top notch so im working on iron fist. This combo is NOT his best with the spencer assist and i already have ideas as to get 1million+ damage with just the two bars.

The fact that he won with him, yet still thinks he will be difficult to win with doesn’t speak well of the character. But at the end of the day its still day -3, lets wait and see.

It looked like Justin knew what he was doing with IF. The other people were too busy trying to figure out how PW works, so of course Justin won a lot.

Can anyone shed some light on instant chi powerups after a crumple? I could of sworn I’ve seen IF instantly powerup in the middle of combos.

Shoryuken plus L M or H give you his three powerups that last roughly 5 or 6 seconds. They don’t stack. L is red which gives you boosted health. M is blue which raises your defense, and H is yellow which allows you to gain a tad more meter. Normal ground chain that gave me half meter gave me .75 meter with yellow on.

You also can do these at anytime but it is good to use them after a crumple because you are not vulnerable and the damage or meter gain will help with your combo

Red is damage increase. Seems to last longer when you are actually hitting stuff than leaving it idle.

Nah, sorry. What I meant is, when I see an Iron Fist player do a combo, they do the chi power up late into the crumple animation. IIRC I’ve seen him do a powerup as soon as the crumple connects.

I think that is them just trying to remember the input. His powerups aren’t connected to his crumple. You can do it as soon as they crumple or towards the end as long as you recover fast enough to hit S.

I see, I just like to see it done quickly lol. It makes the combos look better.

I really like that frame of armor during his chi power up I hope that was intentional and not something they patch away. It’s pretty unique.

Yeah, I’m hoping it’s going to be good against Hulk, Haggar, or Wolverine. It’s a stretch but it could be a legit counter.

messin around with Ironfist right now… holy shit the 8 different rekka… yes I said EIGHT different rekka moves make his combos soooooooooooooooooo unique and crazy potential

I think that while his hands are glowing yellow, that’s when you can cancel his rekka into another special. I’m pretty sure that includes Chi.

So are Taskmaster arrows and Spencer grapple the best assists for IF? One helps him get in and keeps them grounded, one gets them back to the ground for crumple or launch.

Here’s a basic one with the jumping combo thinger. Forgot to re-Chi up after the crumple. I was trying to get the timing for the little air juggle. I think this would’ve went over 1 million with the re-Chi and if I mashed a little more.

You likely won’t start off with red Chi in the combo so the damage is probably around the same.

so wait, fists of fury resets wallbounce? That’s a pretty big deal.

I agree. I think any assist that gets in and out quickly while filling the horizonatal space, or stops people abusing super jumps will be the best to use.

Spencer should be amazing for getting crumple off of most if not all situations. I’ve never used the assist though, is it really solid for controlling the vertical space in front of him?

My current team is Task (a)/IF (y)/Doom (b). IIRC there’s a way to end Task’s BnB’s (via otg arrows xx air MH Hyper) to it DHC’s into non OTG hypers. I haven’t played vanilla in a hot minute but I recall being able to DHC no problem into Dante’s million dollars. Otherwise DHC’ing into IF whiffs, so I either need to modify the BnB or worry about the initial team order.

Rising Fang assist is pretty good for zoning, not sure if its too applicable for close range ala vanilla Haggar/Tron.

Gonna get back in the lab in a few minutes. The teams I’m thinking about:

IF(y)/Spencer(b)/Skrull(b) or Task or whomever
IF/Strider/Vergil(b)
IF/Doom or Strange/Skrull

I thought of using IF with Stirder’s kick assist, too. I don’t think I’ll be using Vergil with them though. Ill have to find a third for that team.
