no one should get discouraged by that vid. two things were obvious from it…
- player was only using IF for his assist
- he didn’t know what he was doing with him other than abc>rekkas.

Nah if you saw a random srk stream of an event prior to Vanialla Mvc3’s release there was a tournament, I think J.Wong won with some trash team like Storm/Chun/blah and he basically calling Chun legs the best assist in the game. Danny’s assist may look strong but we never know what the new gustaff fire will be until release.
Justin says a lot of things that turn out completely wrong.
random.but he didn’t actually win
marn did
abywho’s
Not too random lol just poorly quoted, Viktorian was referring Iron fist as being just an assist character and I was just doubting it because calling someone purely an assist character before release is a little crazy.

I think this is the first time I actually see IF air throw. It looks really good and causes hard knockdown

Iron Fist really reminds me of Taskmaster, in a way. Great normals, good for punishing, likes airthrowing people, lots of damage and a good assist. But where Iron Fist lacks a projectile, he makes up for it by having more mixups. I think Iron Fist will be most suitable in second place, having him as a sort of anti-air assist and a third character with either a beam assist or something else to get in with.
I really want an all purple team, but I think I’ll really be stuck with Wesker/Iron Fist/Magneto if I do that. And I’m really sick of playing Wesker.
EDIT: Also, Iron Fist has a walljump, check out around 2:20 and 2:26: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDU3WiJBL_8
Dat air throw! Looks like they changed it though, I recall seeing him air throw in another video and it looked different. I really prefer this one, go Danny go!
Also :034:, I couldn’t agree more.
They either changed it or his back throw is different. I remember seeing him do an air throw which was basically the first half of that… the high kick and they flew away.
That one is absolutely perfect for OTG’ing.
Starting to feel a little better about danny in general, altho doubled down on the ‘you have to learn to play him totally differently’ idea.
If I’m right about naked flying kick, we’re in business.
I agree about placement in a team. I think he should go in second place or in first when you have someone in second like MODOK who you bring in before the first character dies.
Wow, that’s a great air throw, especially since it drops them directly below you.
Sadly, the players in this new footage still tried to combo into his launcher after LMH…
I think you’ll need a really specific assist… Beam assist sound good in theory, but most beams knock people off their feet, which would make for a less extensive/damaging combo. I think the only beam that leaves the opponent standing is Unibeam, and I really wouldn’t want Iron Man as an anchor… So probably something like Taskmaster/Hawkeye arrows or Doom’s Missiles would be good?
So Wesker/Iron Fist/Hawkeye for that all purple goodness (maybe Storm or Magneto instead of Wesker)… And then I suppose some point character that would benefit from a flying kick assist and Hidden Missiles to make xx/Iron Fist/Doom… I’ll have to sit on that one for a while (maybe Captain?)
Hawkeye has a vertical arrows assist that’s either going to force the opponent to block or come closer to you to avoid them. I can see Iron Fist and Hawkeye having synergy together. Hawkeye could use a good AAA and Iron Fist fills that slow nicely.
I’m wanting to play IF/MODOK/Doom, but IF/Taskmaster/Doom would probably be better.
That’s true, Hawkeye does lack a good diagonal way to control space. Although I think with Hawkeye I’d still rather use the Horizontal assist, reason being that it covers a specific area. What I like about Doom’s Missiles is that they track the opponent: they’ll force your opponent to block no matter where they are.
Funnily enough I was already thinking of playing Firebrand/Taskmaster/Doom, but using Iron Fist instead doesn’t seem to be a bad idea. Although I’d still prefer putting IF second, so maybe Task(Hawk)/Iron Fist/Doom for me.
I was actually just thinking the same thing. hawkeye and iron fist both have something in their assists that the other character lacks. Hawkeye gives iron fist some effective air control while iron fist gives hawkeye a very nice get off me/ wall bounce assist to work with. plus they are both characters that can self otg it seems, so the third character could be very flexible to the needs of the team. Right now I’m really digging the idea of fist/dorm/hawk or fist/strange/hawk for my main team, but only time can really tell.
as for his anti air options, I think his best bet will either be his his QCB H into a possible rekka chain or a really good normal. his forward and heavy looks light it might have a pretty good hitbox for this so hopefully someone will test this out before the game comes out to give us some more insight.

More Marvel Madness from Max featuring Iron Fist. Things I’ve noticed:
Not much in this video either.
he tries a versoin of the :mk::hp: loop! Yay!
I wonder if adding a :lk: after the otg will let you get another rep out of it, or if that’s it.
Edit: There’s his other air throw. I’m pretty certain they changed it now, it knocks them pretty quickly down compared to what I remember
OH MY GOD GOOD IRON FIST GAMEPLAY!!!
I LOVE YOU MAX
