His launcher is really really bad, like c. H into launcher does not combo because the opponent is too high.

Thats why he has rekkas to make sure he can launch AND powerup.
RoyalFlush uploaded videos from the fight club playing as Iron Fist. Fist getting blown up by zoning and advance guard seems to give him problems.
those are kind of hard to watch lol. I can absolutely guarantee that Royalflush is a hundred times better than me, but I just wanted to yell 'YOU"RE DOING IT WRONG!"
From everything we’ve seen you have to run excellent assists with IF (which was SEVERELY lacking in the videos I watched anyways), and his combos run entirely different than anyone elses… specifically that you don’t even want to do your normal LMH string, but want to be at your mixup by the third or fourth hit, or yer gonna be pushblocked out. Going LMH>punch rekka just won’t cut it.
It seems that there are at least three people who will be playing IF/MODOK.
Which is funny, it looks like a bad team to me.
What’s good for IF is that wavedash completely ignores the REPULSAH, so it’s one less thing to worry about
I dunno. The speed of IF’s wavedash could probably make Psionic Blaster assist work pretty well, maybe Balloon Bomb.
If you put someone with a low hitting assist OR a lockdown assist, it helps both of their mixups.
I thin it could work pretty well.
just seems like there are better options for approach assists than psi blaster, and he doesn’t help modok that much at all. (seems to me)
I’m not saying it’ll be great, but it probably will be pretty good. Just the speed of the wavedash makes it so that you could rush in and do an overhead is anyone is crouching under Psi blast.
Don’t know what IF could do for MODOK. We’ll see when the game launches.
IF Crescent Heel assist might work for MODOK. Surely even he is capable of getting a free unblockable.
People act like MODOK is the only character with only one low attack (puddle doesn’t count).
Sent and Hulk both only have one. Also, MODOK can setup his own unblockables.
It probably wouldn’t help him that much. He already has great OTGs and overheads.
Admittedly, I know jack shit about MODOK. Only touched the guy once and wasn’t my cup of tea.
Man is it just me or is IF getting worse everyday? The only way I can see him connect anything on an airborne opponent is using his knockdown rekka, since you can’t put somebody into a crumple state when they’re airborne. I hope he can get some lethal combo’s off his airthrow midscreen otherwise he’s just looking… well, bad.
Honestly, the only good player I’ve seen playing him is Royal Flush. And he showed up at EVO playing Thor and Joe, the best character on his team was Modok… Not shitting on Royal Flush as a player but dude loves his low tier characters.
Well its kind of the weaknesses and concerns we’ve been aware of all along. I think he’s just one of those characters that takes a totally different node of thought to use. he seems like he gets the most advantage out of a close range knockdown of anyone in the game, so rekka>knockdown is a good choice vs air in general.
You just have to get used to the idea of never using :s:

I’m currently planning to use the dragon kick as a anti air to give space,or to cover analyze cubes,but I’ll admit I still have a lot of work to do with my modok,so i could be wrong and maybe one of the other assists will work better.
I don’t care who anyone else plays - pair Fist with the right assists and he’ll be fine. Hopefully.
We know his weaknesses are air mobility and zoning characters. I’m not counting his launcher as you should always be combing into that anyway - his Rekkas give you plenty of options in any situation to start a combo. Pick assists intelligently… This obviously isn’t a character that you just team with your other favorites and expect a lot of success.
I would agree if MODOK wasn’t high mid.

Seriously tho, watching those vids, there can’t be many worse things to pair with IF than thor/dunk.
