You know what they say.
What’s Iron Fist’s favorite drink?
…
…
WATTA!
That was so bad that I loved it.
Yuk yuk yuk.
=P Never heard that one before? Oh man, it’s a classic.
I think that last clip is from ‘The Chinese Connection’, but I’m not 100%.
Either way, I wasn’t all that excited for Iron Fist before, but he looks really damn good and potentially a lot of fun to use. I’m definitely putting him on the short-list of new characters to spend some time with.
heh eventually I looked it up, and yeah its Chinese Connection.
And IF scares me in a way, he’s so cool, but at the same time, I’m terrified that his lack of mobility options will make him a combo vid/theory character, and not that useful.
Even better, the sodium level rises when you know you can’t blame the character you just lost to.
Longer breakdown (sorry if posted)
so rekkas: (all done in LMHS order)
Punch, Crumple, Knockdown/away (S.Kill claims it crosses under, but didn’t show that), Shoulder (Wallbounce)
low, overhead/OTG, upkicks, Dragon Fang (flying kick, bounces at range)
Interestingly dragon fang doesn’t seem to cause wallbounce at point blank range/in the corner, maybe he used a bounce in the combo already and I didn’t notice?
~~
standing S OTG’s but doesn’t hit air at all.
Just need to know now how the 'crossunder' works and what all is jump cancellable, and we'll be in business. (Edit and if Dragon fire OTGs)
st. S OTG’s??? Really?
Damn I think I may put Danny on second spot, Wesker won’t do shit for him if that’s true.
watching it agian to make sure, will edit in when I am… Seth Killian is actually kind of terrible at describing things sometimes ><
“a launcher with some interesting properties that will only pull off the ground, won’t hit out of the air”… so not decisive, but between the stomp animation and the way he phrased it seems pretty likely. Or maybe he was thinking of a nice way to say his launcher sucked ><
lmao he does try to tone down things when they suck.
All I know is if it doesn’t hit people that are off the ground, it had BETTER OTG, or else its nigh useless. (doing more research on that :D), on the other hand, I’d missed it, but he cna chain back into hte same move, he does qcb+L, qcf+L, qcb+L in that vid at one point, so pushblock aside, even better high/low and left/right mixups (depending on how the ‘crossunder’ works)
I don’t think that’s the case. In the Gamespot walkthough Seth did low rekka, mid rekka back to low rekka.
I noticed it, so godlike.
The only thing that I think will make me rage is Super Jump happy people
So looked at all the available footage, he never once in what we’ve seen does a launcher to somebody not in a standing/ducking state. I’m starting to think its the ‘codeword for terrible’ answer unfortunately.
Probably intentional though, he’s meant to have crazy ground combos, not crazy air combos… also his qcb+H works as a minilauncher anyways.
No other character can OTG from their launchers. Not being able to use his launcher as an anti-air doesn’t seem like a bad trade-off to me. Of course, that’s assuming that upkicks and flying dragon kick ain’t terrible options hitting opponents coming from the air
I think Iron Fist will be best in the second spot.
Looks like he can DHC from lows of things, and also seems to have strong assists. He doesn’t look like a good anchor, as he will have trouble with air characters.
If you put him on point, I think that Iron Fist/Dante/someone to cover the approach, like Sentinel would be a good team. Dante could bring them down from superjump height.
I still insist that Iron Fist/MODOK/low assist will be godlike. Balloon bomb assist. The last character could be a lockdown assist for more mixups, I suppose. Iron Fist doesn’t seem to NEED a low assist, but it’ll make his offense really scary. MODOK kinda needs that.
Hidden Missiles perhaps? Cover the approach, extend combos, and lock down for mixups?
I really don’t think we know enough. But Danny and George will be on my team, whatever happens.
Unless they remove MODOK from the game. Then he can’t be on my team.
The problem is, I think its more than just not being able to anti-air. From the sound of it you couldn’t, for instance, launch after a ground bounce or wall bounce.
Anyone know what his crumple move does to airborne enemies?
Well, he will have trouble with keepaway it seems, but hey, can’t have both godlike in your face and godlike full screen, right?
“HAHAHAHAHAHA”
What?
“HUMANITY DISGUSTS ME”
Fuck you Magnus, fuck you.
