The Power of Bushin...Guy Video Thread!

He doesn’t have to cause he is better.
I’m serious

meh, wether some info is wrong or not isn’t that important. If you do something in a match up that you read on the net, and it doesn’t work, so what? You learn from it and maybe figure out another option. You can always edit write ups as well, they are not carved in stone.

Yeah to be honest TChamp has the best Guy play I’ve seen in recent times apart from Kiryu.

Also, its great to see Kiryu experimenting with U1.I myself have gone back to it in almost all my matchups as of late,I think EX hozanto fadc is a good threat.

DUDE! I’m workin on CH cr. FP (after conditioning them to crouch tech) >> St. MP xx EX Hoz xx FADC >> U1. It’s pretty saucy.

Have you actually played TChamp?

@TChamp: Got any vids of yourself in action?

All his videos he posted are a couple pages back.I haven’t played him I just watched those videos which I assume are tournament matches.

I’m still yet to land Hozanto, FADC U1 in a real match yet, I can nail it in practice all the time pretty much but when I’m playing I tighten up and have missed it on a few occasions. Doing the full bushin chain while their blocking, FADC the last hit and throw out U2 has worked for me once or twice, but I’m not a fan of U2, I tend to spend all the time looking to throw it out and it gets me in bad spots.

Right now I’m using U1 for almost every match, when combo’d in the corner, the damage scale is ridiculous though, so many times its left them on a pixel of life and if it would have finished them off, I would have won.

Now this is kinda dumb. People SHOULD take the time to make sure that something is correct. If you’re going to write something down, you owe it to your readers, to make sure that it makes sense and is accurate. TChamp made the character specific stuff thread back in Apr and it’s still easily one of the best, if not the best thread on these forums, because it’s accurate and deals with important stuff that will help people win matches and understand Guy better…

Some people awhile back were talking about the Guy forums being a bit of a circle jerk and this is why. People in here are more concerned about showing off incorrect knowledge and “Ranking my boards”, trying to ‘prove’ that they’re the best Guy around (on a freaking internet forum) than actually admitting the stuff that they don’t know and discussing it.

The moment someone comes in to point out the stuff that’s wrong, people get all defensive and act hurt. Not good.

Double post, but I don’t care since this one is actually on topic.

IMO, I think players should use the MK Tatsu against against Bison 90% of the time. This is why:

Ok for the record I still stand by what I said about the Akuma match, but I won’t press the issue. As far as I’m concerned and from my matchup experience, I’m not spreading false information. That said I would agree that alot of people on these forums tend to stress aspects of Guy’s game that are, shall we say, less than practical.

@TChamp You know, I initially only looked at the grand finals which didn’t really impress me, but the winners’ finals against that Akuma was quite good and it’s apparent that you both have a good grasp on the match. Dunno what happened to the Akuma player in the Grand Finals, but he didn’t play nearly as well.

Anyway, sorry if I offended you, that wasn’t my intention.

Sometimes, there are write ups that you may disagree with or find something not as effective. When you have some good match up experience and find better ways then you can always contribute so x write up can be updated, that’s the point.

Besides, as helpful as some of the stuff in here is, if you just rely on what other people say, you will have much bigger problems to worry about. The biggest point of character sub forums is to find info from others so you save a lot of time discovering things yourself but some people rely too much on the internet to improve their game.

FYI, most top players play to learn and discover things as they keep playing and practicing. They don’t concern themselves too much with forums.

Not disagreeing with you but whats the point in having these forums then?
I agree that watching top players is a great way to learn but sometimes you can see a top player win a match and still not understand the reason he won, why he used certain moves and things like that.
There’s also not that many top guy players and he’s pretty new, since he’s only been in the alpha series before this (well capcom fighting jam too I guess).
I think the matchip writeups were written to be taken with a grain of salt anyway, nobody should be reading them thinking thats exactly how they have to play the matchup.

Maybe we should discuss this in its own thread and keep this one for videos.

1 of the few matches I had a while ago vs Pblaze’s Guy.
Ryu is not my main or secondary though, but that was the time when I was trying to get better with Ryu.

Starting at 4:16 of the following video, we get three fairly vicious Guy combos. Does anyone know who all those three combos work on? I’ll be shocked if they aren’t character specific.

Im not a fan of using those combos (I sometimes do some slight variations), but if you want to try them they work on fatties/wide characters (you could find a list, from memory I think its Thalk, honda, gief, abel, guy, seth, hakan, sagat(? not sure about sagat ?))

Linking 3 fierce attacks together plus a st. MP plus an EX Hoz must do HELLLLLLLAAAAA stun and damage. Plus it just looks fatal. Thanks for starting that list up btw.

Edit: 3 fierce attacks = combination of HK and HP attacks, sorry about that.

j.hk, cl.hk, c.hp, s.mp xx ex.hozanto, hk.tatsu = 835 stun

j.hk, cl.hk, c.hp, s.hp = 700 stun

i find it weird that cl.hk, c.hp only works on a crouching honda. it seems like he stands up after being hit making the cl.hk hit on its last active frame? i dunno

guy is soo exposed now

835 stun?!?!? O_o

Can anyone direct me to a good Guy basics video? Looking to learn the power of Bushin myself
