The Power of Bushin...Guy Video Thread!

Exactly. Mid screen maybe. But when you’re a bit past half screen and facing the corner tatsu is a good option. When people say Ambiguous cross up with guy, do they mean using the elbow to cut his jump short, or spacing his cross up so it’s ambiguous?

Yes, using the elbow to change the arc. Also, add LP flip here and there.

Thanks. I think using Guy, makes me realise how good Makoto’s normals are. Priority wise. Guy’s are a bit flimsy x-D His anti airs are just so bad. Although compared to her he has fantastic walk speed haha and some really high damaging punishers.

^^ actually in my opinion guys anti airs are really good. he has a good lot of them, they’re just very character specific. if you know what anti airs work best against which characters, his anti air game becomes very solid.

if you’re wondering… guy’s anti airs are: cr. strong, cr. forward, TK EX izuna, and EX Hurricane… and some times st. rh. the best thing about having so many anti airs is it keeps his anti air game a bit unpredictable from different distances.

I was at the same tourney Rizoh attended, but I did not even survive the pools -.-
The competition wasn’t bad enough and I played like I a total retard who tried to use the stick with his elbows.
But I discovered by accident that standing HP works as an AA against Ryu. He was like “WTF?!” but then I loled.
On another note, I was really surprised to see not one but 2 solid Guy-players showing up and doing pretty well in the tournament. Hopefully Rizoh captured some footage.

Still, the Top 4 were 2 x Ryu, Rufus and Rog :frowning:

top 4 chars not a suprise

Dunno if this has been posted.

I don’t know if K1 knows but he doesnt have to waste two bars to FADC extra hits after bushin target combo in the corner…

yeah i know i didnt have to waste those two bars, i did it on accident and just went with it

He’s also not in his trademark color 4.

Ive actually taken quite a liking to gold (i believe its 10 ? ). Ive been using this solely for the past few weeks. pretty sure im going to stick with it from now on lol

=)

any questions/comments on the vid ?

Ultra2 and the setup for it at the end of the first round was pure gold.
I kinda gave up to land U2 outside of the danger room because my exe suffers too much when I’m under pressure.

Skip ahead a bit and you will see my crappy Guy. There was a few times where I anticipated Rog’s dash punch to ultra but I fail horribly. It was against one of STL’s best.

Things I know I need to correct. Use slide cautiously and make sure when I do run slide I can FADC if blocked. Also run stop pressure and mix ups.

Edit: I am also in SSF4Teams 4. Do your worst.

heres a match against one of the top chuns, xSoSickNASHFANx

I hope to god this doesnt spark another SNK type thing. Me and nash have played multiple times, and we go back and forth a lot. hes VERY solid, and im a big fan of his Chun

Is throwing out command elbow, how to approach the match up?

eh i just throw a LOT of command elbows because it really limits the opponent from jumping most of the time. i also try and space it properly to bait something out and punish. if you notice, it keeps his chun grounded a lot which works in Guy’s favor.

Oh I see…

K1, how often do you get the Bushin Flip ->EX-Bushin Flip to land? Seems like a good way to get 400 damage if people aren’t expecting it.

I’d have to say it seems pretty gimmicky since even at my pretty awful level of play my friends have gotten used to, and learned to deal with it.
