RB vs Marn
Again RB almost always going for the run slide knockdown combos which is interesting.But some of those situations I think he shoulda just gone for bushin chain damage.His run overhead use was also good and he used guys limited footsies well.Even if marn won,it’s an interesting set.
i still don’t understand why RB chooses to always go for TC xx run slide. i mean yea guy’s got his safejump setups. but RB’s missing out on damage… and he went for the CH cr. fierce after every safe jump. i would’ve liked to see him mix up his block strings… i think he played WAY too reckless against marn. i honestly believe that match up is in guy’s favor.
I agree pretty much madmaestro.Also when Marn did ultra as RB’s guy was in the air, he actually could have avoided it if he didnt do the command elbow.

anyway… great job by combofiend… really nice baiting guile’s cr. fierce for the free sweep with d+elbows and bushin flips. guy’s st. fierce was wrecking guile… need to remember that.

from my knowledge… cr. short has a ton of range… and seems to have great priority. i think he said after you tech a throw… it has enough range to put them in hit/block stun if you throw it out after the tech. i’m testing it right now and it’s not working though. also… i know it causes viper’s burn kick to whiff for some reason.

Anyway, was awesome play by Combo-fiend, really learned a lot from him.
That announcer was just salty to not see tier-whored characters. 100-0 in Guile’s favour, Yeah that is only possible if Guy never gets in, and Guile never gets knocked down or thrown in the corner at all.
those are the people that pay attention TOO much to tiers. guile isn’t all powerful…this isn’t mvc2 sent/storm/mag vs amingo/servbot/roll. any character can be taken down with skill and smart play. i hate it when people act like player skill doesn’t mean anything because tiers say this character is better than that character. i honestly do not believe guy is “not tournament viable.” that’s a load of bull. he’s entirely capable… high damage output with very simple and reliable combos and links. while not safe… he has ways to get in pretty easily, and a pretty good mixup game. sure he’s lacking in being able to play footsies with average walk speed and semi decent pokes, but every character has their weaknesses.
need more “player tiers” … Character ability is one thing but no character is so good that a player skilled with another still has no chance.
not to mention kiryu beat daigo’s guile in a couple matches awhile back.

I’ve only made it through the first part, and it’s mostly against Balrog. Some VERY nice work by Kiryu, as usual. He does fairly well against this Balrog, but I’m taking the vid with a grain of salt b/c the Rog player didn’t use Rog’s best weapon nearly enough: Jab Mash. Nevertheless, very good, noteworthy stuff. Especially the U2 armor cancel used towards the beginning(ish) portions of the video.
