I dont’ have a problem with calling confederates traitors, but I do have a problem with a member of congress trying to shame other members of congress into agreeing with her. Just like i have a big issue with her intimating that the only reason anyone could possibly disagree with her hot takes is because they’re a white supremacist propping up white supremacy. Stuff like that is why we got Trump in the first place.
This is a good video. I’m pretty sure that prior to the election, a lot of us were pointing out that the Republican party didn’t even have a platform it was running on. In fact, it was literally the same platform in 2016 of “THE LEFT BAD”. You had to dig around to find any actual policies, but “THE LEFT BAD” was pushed out in front and force fed to EVERYONE. The Trump campaign and Republican leadership couldn’t read the room that too many people cared about policy and actually didn’t like Trump to boot. Democratic voters were energized to come out and vote Trump out, and moderates flipped for Biden because Trump sucked.
That said, the Republican party would probably perform better if they didn’t cozy up with racist and prejudice people so much, but they’ve made their bed and now have to lie in it. There are reasonable, moderate conservative policies that can be appealing to those that are closer to the center of the aisle, but the party is not very appealing when the loudest parts scream about “the illegals”, “welfare queens”, “Muslims”, and other invisible enemies. Also doesn’t help that the party pretends to care about spending but then blatantly spends a shit ton of money, widening the deficit even more compared to the previous administration. The GOP really need to get their shit together to become a party of actual policy rather than the party of “Not The Left” like they have been for the passed 8-12 years.

And some Repubs do seem to support white supremacy so i dont have issue with calling that out either.

I don’t even understand why she’s bringing it up outside of having an axe to grind against republicans. Why go there? It’s not like a ton of statues haven’t been taken down and names changed, now we’re going with “Say what I want you to say or else” ? Nah, that ain’t it. Like I said, I have no problem with calling them traitors, but I do have a problem with a politician compelling speech from political opponents with threats.
There are white supremacists, QAnon and other terrorist assholes in the right-wing of our government known as the GOP. They had only ten members move to impeach Trump for a terrorist act, but AOC is the one with divisive rhetoric.

It’s their Constitutional right to vote the way they choose, if you have a problem with it, have a seance and take it up with the Founders. Voting in a way you don’t like doesn’t make them “white supremacists.”
