So I went to buy Puyo Puyo Tetris and couldn’t find it on PSN. Turns out there is a PHYSICAL release for it but not a digital! Game industry licensing is insane.
Speaking of Tetris, Tetris Effect is amazing, like possibly the best Tetris game you’ll ever play. Don’t sleep on this one.

There is this really weird thing with Tetris Licensing. It always been a real cluster fuck.
Blame it on the Elektronorgtechnica (ELORG), the Soviet agency that initially created to license to private industry (as the Soviets has no real concepts on how IP works). As they licensed Tetris to both Nintendo and Atari (under their Tengen brand) both trying to make Tetris for the NES.
Tetris is now owned by a holdings Company called (wait for it) The Tetris Company founded by
Alexey Pajitnov (original programmer of Tetris) and Henk Rogers (the dude who broker the deal with Nintendo and Elorg in the 80s for the NES and Game Boy Versions of the game).

US PlayStation Classic has several slower 50hz PAL games
WHY? WHY IN THE HELL WOULD YOU USE PAL VERSIONS?
Why in any edition of the PS1 Classic is any of the games in it’s inferior PAL versions?
And yes the PAL version are quite inferior due to slower game play, even more cropped down screen graphics, additional censoring as PAL territories have weirdly strict censorship rules, ect.
There is not even an Emulation reason for this? Is the PS1 Classic even being made by Sony, or are they licensing this Rom box to ATGAMES? Becuase this looks like a ATGAMES style move.
They’re using the PAL version for the multiple language options. That’s it.

For what? The US version don’t need the multiple language support.
Maybe the European versions, but the US version really don’t need it at all.
What languages you really need in the US?
No seriously, French is only openly spoken in parts of Canada and I never in the past see Sony going out of their way to include Spanish in US Products.
And what do you really need to read in Battle Arena Toshinden and Tekken 3?
You can get away with the Japanese versions of these games. I actually prefer the Japanese versions to the PAL versions as those gets don’t get letterboxed and run 17% slower.
It’s Sony being lazy. They want a singular product to sell globally instead of making localized versions of it. Only Japan gets that luxury.

Yeah I read a whole history of it and it’s pretty incredible that Pazhitnov had people chasing him down to get a piece of the game.
LOL at PAL versions being used in the PS Mini! Europe doesn’t get to shit on the US for not using the metric system when those mfs still using PAL 
America should now and forever be shit on for the garbage that is the Metric System.
